Manchester United vs West Ham United

I enjoyed the match today. Despite our crazy defending I still didn't think we'd concede and we looked fairly decent going forward every time Valencia wasn't anywhere close to the attack.

All in all it was a good result and a good night with players getting some much needed minutes. Happy with that. Jones and Giggs were fantastic.

Sam Allardyce is a fecking wanker! Team was shite and he blames a penalty decision for losing.....casually forgets his team let us back into it.

Pretty subdued match for a cup tie, I thought we were going to score a barrel full the way we started but we just seemed to relax and West Ham never looked like scoring.

Giggs had a great game and I thought Hernandez and Buttner played well, plus Rooney, Nani and Anderson got valuable minutes under their belts, so all in all a good night.

How did we play? I missed the game.

Not very well on the whole. The pitch was dreadful and it broke down a few of our counter attacks, and some players still seem rusty (understandbly so for Rooney, Ando and Nani). Valencia still doesn't want to try to beat a man (though he did do it once towards the end) and his crossing is very erratic to say the least. The defence was pretty good, Smalling and Jones coped well with everything thrown their way, Buttner wasn't incredible but did okay (and has loads of energy) and Rafael was immense. Lindegaard didn't shine, didn't have much to do but his distribution was awful. Chicha did okay upfront, his linking play was good, but caught offside a couple of times when he shouldn't have. Giggs ran the show with a masterclass, brilliant game by him, undoubtetly man of the match. Overall, a pretty lethargic display, but we never really looked like conceding and got the job done.
