We're going to win the CL this year, aren't we?

    Been saying it.:)

Oh well, it's the only competition where we can just push on and hope for the best, as the league's pretty much dead for us. So hope we spank Young Boys 4-0 and make an effort to finish top of the group, unlikely though that is. I can get a bit excited for the CL games despite the gloom and doom surrounding our performances in general.

Bit funny watching clips from training and our one touch keep the ball routines. The quality is piss poor

Where is Dalot? Seems to have not been available often

He seems injured a lot, but he is also very young. Jose seldom uses teenagers with little experience in important matches (and yes, this is a must win game for us, if we have aspirations of going through to the next round).

I haven't seen this. We can't surely be bad, in training (ie. under no pressure, nice and relaxed)?

Hopefully a change for lukaku to bag a few to improve his confidence ?

I honestly can't see Lukaku scoring a goal, right now....unless the opponent plays without a GK. Even then, I think he'd struggle.

I saw Spurs players do the same thing and their passing was fast and crisp.
I noticed that our players tend react to the ball, rather than controlling it. Also, what Lukaku in that session? I didn't notice him.
His first touch would be an absolute joke in that kind of game.

EDIT: the one guy who I was impressed with was the shorter black guy with his back to the camera. Is that Fred?

    Looks like Fred.

Lukaku is standing on the right hand side.

Judging from the clips from the pre season tour, where it was being made fun of by journalists, it seems that we're unable to do the routine while passing the ball with a bit of pace. Which is a bit of a contrast to the earlier days, where the one touch routine was hardcore.

Seems like his training is working.

I'd play this, understanding there is no fecking way we will see anything like it:

    --------------------------DDG---------------------
    Dalot-------Bailly---------------Smalling-----Shaw
    ---------------------Fellaini-------------
    ------Pereira---------------------Fred
    -------------------Pogba--------------
    ---Rashfors----------------------Martial

Not sure how to set them up, but those are the players I want to see out there.

I am finally falling into the jaded, pissed off United fan. This is not fun....

If fans and journalists can see our issues, why the hell can't Carrick, McKenna and Jose seem them?
What the hell are the coaches playing at?
It is obvious, looking at our performances on the pitch and also the training, that our ability to the control passes and make quick passes is poor. Even the pressing (in training and in games) is lacklustre.

I am currently Jose In, but looking at that training video makes me question if Jose has completely lost his faculties. At least under LVG, controlling incoming passes and making passes was a fundamental skill to have (for possession football), so it would've been practised a lot.

WTF is going on at our club? From top to bottom, we have staff who aren't able to do their job to a high enough standard. :(

EDIT: That video deserves its own thread. I can't believe how bad we are on the ball. This would be like watching a video of a professional typist, who is typing using 2 fingers!

Judging the training session and our players by a two minute clip that you're only able to watch because we're made to let media film a few minutes of certain sessions every now and then? Now that's embarrassing

Apart from the embarrassing level of control, it's hardly intense. Most of them look bored and distracted.
Reminds me of when my son was 10 years old would do the same drill in training and none of the kids wanted to be there.

    At the Hilton

The following players were at the hotel prior to tonight's game:

Goalkeepers (3): David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
Defenders (5): Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw
Midfielders (6): Scott McTominay, Fred, Andreas Pereira, Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini, Paul Pogba
Forwards (5): Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata

Hotel security said they weren't expecting any further arrivals.
DeGea, Smalling, Bailly, Valencia and Shaw. Then Matic, Fred, Pogba Lukaku, Martial and Mata. This is what I think Jose will set them up.
I hope to see DeGea, Bailly, Smalling, Valencia and Shaw. Pereira, Fred and Pogba with Rashford, Martial, and Ligaard.

So no Sanchez in the squad.

I have already seen a great United performance today so after that weekend sh1t-show, if he picks Lukaku and Matic, I am off to the cinema.

Players who have no right to start based on their form and or quality are Matic McTominay Lukaku. Yet I wouldn't be surprised to see all 3. That is the blindness of the man at the helm.

Says it all when you go from
    Darmian Smalling Lindelof Young to
    Valencia Smalling Jones Shaw

Sheer lack of quality in defence is terrible
