The CAF doesn't like the team - we're sure to win then! :D

The state of these reactions! We’re playing a pub team and we rest some players, and will bring them on in the second half if we’re not doing too well. We’ll hammer Young Boys with our reserves, and if we don’t, Pogba is on after 60. One would think we’re playing Juventus or Real Madrid in the semis. Nothing wrong with that line-up, apart for there being little chemisty in place. Saying that, we don’t have that on any given day to be fair.

Lets see how much of a pub team they are once the 90 minutes are up. We won't win this convincingly, which surely we should against a "pub team"?

United have a match on Saturday against Southampton, so there has to be some rotation...hardly to be a surprise.

Pogba came off an injury layoff and played poorly Saturday, so he needs the rest/recovery for the more important match on Saturday.

United have enough quality and understanding to get the 3 points and safely progress into the knockout stage. People will just gripe to gripe.

"We must treat this as a crucial must win game". Drops Pogba and plays Matic and Fellaini

    Matic starts again ...

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

If I were in that squad I would be absolutely fecking livid by this point. Regardless of what position I played in. Can't imagine what Herrera or Pereira or Fred must be thinking to themselves watching from the stands as that oaf lumbers around with no consequence game after game. Well, I can imagine: "This is some sick fecking joke, Jose".

Obviously it's not quite as despicable as forcing Rashford and Sanchez to sit and watch Lukaku try and pass himself off as a top level footballer but it's pretty close.

We’re playing Young Boys at home. If we can’t beat them with this midfield, none of the players deserve to be there anyway.

I think we’ve long established that most of this squad don’t deserve to be there.

This is going to be a draw.

    Man Utd alternative line up

    De Gea
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Herrera
    Pogba Fred
    Rashford Sanchez Martial

    I feel better now guys

Come Saturday, we will again start Matic and Fellaini and there wont be any rotation

Then watch that pub team absolutely boss us at home like every other team do.

Surely if you were going to rotate, then you would bring in Pereira? And why no rotation for MAtic, if theres anyone in this squad who needs a spell on the bench it's him. He's looked drunk the past few games.

Pogba out then you bring Mata/Periera . We don't need two DM at home vs Young Boys especially when one has been totally under performing. Why is Matic being rewarded with starts after the last games?

    Like Derby?

I went for a 5-0 prediction. What was I thinking

Or he is rested because of the injury that you mentioned.

Yes, he could be on the bench for psychological reasons. It would give YB a lift if Pogba was not even in the squad, but now they may think that we are resting players that can come on in the 2nd half.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of the lineup?

    Jones for Bailly
    Lingard for Sanchez
    Fellaini for Pogba

Pogba is most likely not fully fit, and its not as if Lingard isnt good enough to make an impact against such a poor team.

This team should be good enough to beat young boys and the only inclusion I dislike is Jones.

I don't disagree with Matic being rested. He hasn't been as bad as people have made him out to be, but he also hasn't been as good as he should be. He does really need a rest after his WC and playing through an injury, then getting surgery, then straight back into the team.

Would have liked to see Herrera in with Fred and Marouane then sub in Andreas.

You have to hate your other centerbacks options with such a passion that you would pick Phil Jones. Even if he can himself back into decent form just know it has no chance of lasting.

Fred is setup for failure with that midfield partnership . Good luck to him

    Precisely.

Herrera was set up in a similar fashion against City; being forced to do the lions share of the pressing and ultimately getting overrun.

    @breakout67

This is my issue with the current lineup.

That team makes sense, we were never going to see that. It's Matic and Fellaini time, with the secret weapon Scott on the bench.

Its a home game against the weakest side in the group.

Fringe players getting games makes total sense. Would have liked to see Pereira start ..

We won 3-0 away?! They let in three goals away to Valencia and Juventus. We’re not necessarily going to beat them convincingly, heck Bayern drew Ajax at home and Liverpool lost to Red Star with full forces, but these are a bunch we should beat 9 out of 10 when it matters

I had chosen pretty much tonight's team in my first draft team selection, then changed it all around because it looked so shit. Got 3/11

We have in this line up Valencia, Jones, Matic, Fellaini and Lingard. Players who should not be here.

This team reminds me of Wimbledons in the 90's! Ardley was our Valencia; couple of physical centre backs that are shit on the ball; Afro takes Vinnies place and Lingard, Martial and Rashford are currently of similar levels to Euell, Ekoku and Gayell! Happy days!
