United can't take it too easy today -- Osaka are a decent team in a decent league. Special mention to their Brazilian Lucas, apparently.

This match could go one of two ways, either we see a big performance from Manchester United and they underline the gap in quality, or we could see more of the same from United in recent weeks with a lack of goals and penetration.
It's good to see Anderson, Giggs and Tevez in the team again. These three players were the standout performers against Blackburn recently.

The throw in results in a freekick to Osaka in their penalty area. The ball gets lofted downfield and from the resulting midfield scramble Osaka break in numbers. Long range shot blocked by Vidic. Osaka pressuring our defenders high up the pitch and doing it well.

United win another throw in in their half, and some good play sets up Ronaldo for a shot outside the penalty area. Comfortable save in the end, though.

Giggs played through by Evra, and sets up a pass across the area with some nice footwork. Osaka clear.

Nearly a very good chance for Osaka with a half decent cross, Neville edged the player out well though. Lucas found space on the edge of the box but fired over.

Each of Osaka's players look very comfortable on the ball and find space very well, they've impressed so far in that aspect.

Lovely play by Osaka sets their striker away in the penalty area, but he was just offside. Something the United defence need to be wary of -- it was brilliant approach play.

Osaka very nearly had a great chance there with a nice passing move including a dummy and an incisive pass, but there was an offside somewhere in there.

Ronaldo's shot is tame and easily caught, and straight down the other end Van der Sar has to pull out a great stop when their striker was played through by their goalkeeper. Could easily have been 1-0 to Osaka.
Osaka get in behind from a great piece of counter-attacking and they very nearly score. Again showing they really do know how to attack.

Osaka playing some lovely attacking football, some nice one touch passes with plenty of movement. Ronaldo wins the ball back and regains possession, however. United seem to need some calm time -- Osaka are creating most of the opportunities currently.
Their movement is dragging our defence all over the place, very intelligent runs to the ball and into space and United are struggling to get a hold of the attackers.
Almost a goal by Ronaldo. Great attacking play and a pass from Scholes set him away, and some silky skills set him up for the shot after deceiving one, two, three Osaka defenders. Inches wide.

Giggs gets in behind and whips in a nice cross which nearly lands right on Ronaldo's head, well cut out by Osaka.

Anderson's fantastic cross-field pass finds Ronaldo, who runs infield and passes to Scholes. Nani then receives it, before playing it to Andeson. He receives it back via Evra, but his long-range attempt is wildly off-target.
Nani takes a wild shot from 40 yards out and it's well wide and over.

Good play by Osaka results in Vidic clearing the lines, but Osaka come back at Unietd again. They look very comfortable in possession.

Tevez sets Ronaldo away, who flicks it behind his standing leg to set up a shot after running into the penalty area. The shot is well-blocked, however. United corner.
