Late start so going to get right into it
 
Rio, Carrick, Ronaldo and Berbatov all play, so United line up like this

United win a corner after 30 secs but nothing comes of it. United dominating possession early on. Berbatov greeted with loud booing after his first touch.
 
Berbatov and Ronaldo link up well on the left. Berbatov sends a low cross into Tevez, who gets tackled. Ball breaks for Ronaldo, but Park takes it off his toes. He takes a shot that is deflected over for a corner.

Corner cleared for another corner, which is then cleared. Spurs attempt to counter, but Fletch breaks up play and wins a free kick on the half way line.
 
United play some nice one touch football. Ball eventually finds its way out to Rafael who sends a rubbish cross straight out for a goal kick.
 
Lennon has lined up on the left for Spurs with Bentley on the right for those interested.
 
Spurs get their first bit of sustained possession. Bentley sends a cross in from deep, and Pavlyuchenko, who i shall now call Pav, goes down. Nothing given.

Bentley then pops up on the left, and unleashes a wicked effort from way out that VDS does very well to beat away.
 
Bentley's effort was reminiscent of his effort against Arsenal. Chested it, flicked it up, and hit it on the volley with his left foot.

Meanwhile, Woodgate is coming off injured. Has hurt his knee. Good news for United, with King already missing today. Zokora has gone to CB with Dawson.
 
Huddlestone has replaced Woodgate.
 
Modric is caught by Rafael and goes down a bit theatrically. Referee rightly elects not to book Rafael.

Bentley crosses from deep...and Vidic heads behind for a corner.
 
Taken short by Bentley, to Lennon, who plays it back to Bentley, who swings a cross to the far post which VDS collects comfortably.
 
Berbatov is dropping very deep yet again today. United just sitting back now, soaking up the pressure.
 
Park is bundled over on the half way line by Lennon as Untied look to break. Carrick takes it quickly, effortlesly spraying a huge pass across to the left wing. Cross comes in from O'Shea, a touch to high for Berbatov, who's header is easy for Gomes.
 
Lennon is in behind Rafael, but our young Brazilian does brilliantly to catch up and make the tackle.
 
Carrick chips a ball into Berbatov on the edge of the box. He tries to lay it off to Tevez, but it's too much for the argentinian, who then gives away a free kick for a 'foul' on Assou Ekoto
 
Modric finds a pocket of space between the midfield and defence. He moves forward, but Carrick gets back to make a good tackle.
 
Cagey start to this match, with no real chances so far.
 
Spurs attack menacingly, before Pav is tackled by Vidic on the edge of the area.
 
United are allowed as much possession as they want in their own half, but as soon as they move into the Spurs half, they lose it very quickly.

Tevez limping.
 
Btw Zokora has gone to right back and Corluka has moved to CB. My mistake.
 
Ferdinand's header back almost lets in Pav. Close call that.
 
Rafael tries to break forward, but his pass is misplaced and Spurs break forward with Lennon. He cuts inside from the left and fires a dangerous shot in, which VDS does very well to get down to. Pav tries to follow up but is flagged offside.
 
United attack through Park. He plays a one two with Fletch, but the return pass is cut out. Breaks for Carrick who shoots from distance. Dawson blocks the shot for a corner.

Ronaldo brings the corner down for Vidic, but the shot is blocked. Fletch shoots from the edge but that too is blocked.
 
Park has switched to the left. He does very well to squeeze between Zokora and Bentley and then plays a low ball into Berbatov. He can't bring it under control though and it runs through to Gomes. Almost a chance.
 
Lennon has got no change from Rafael today, who has come out on top in every 1v1.
 
Spurs win a free kick just in the United half. Bentley swings it in but it has too much on it and VDS collects easy. He throws it out to Ronaldo, hwo plays it quickly to Tevez down the line. He goes on a huge run, and beats a couple of players. He gets his shot off, but it goes wide.
 
Lennon runs at United again. Stopped once he reaches Rafael. Again.
 
Zokora beats Ronaldo out on the United left. He sends in a cross, which Modric flings himself at. His diving header is just over with VDS beaten. Close.
 
United then attack through Ronaldo who plays in Carrick. He is tackled for a corner. Corner wasted but United attack again. Tevez and ROnaldo play a one two and Ronaldo sends a low cross in. Gomes gets a big hand to it to stop it from reaching Berbatov.
 
Now Spurs attack after Rio gives it away. Modric sends a low cross in towards Pav. It is cleared to the edge where Huddlestone absolutely whallops the ball. It hits Pav straight in the chest, who is floored by the shot.
 
O'Shea sends a cross in from the left, but it is just too high for Berbatov who was completely unmarked.
 
Berbatov finds Ronaldo on the left. He waits for O'Shea to overlap before finding him. Once again though, his cross is too high, with Berbatov frustrated at the back post.
 
There will be 3 minutes of added time. Ronaldo finds Tevez, who tries to slip in Carrick but its just too strong! Tevez then runs at Zokora and sends a cross straiight out of play.
 
Ferdinand breaks forward. He finds Tevez, who plays a pass to Berbatov. He returns it to Rio, who unleashes a good effort from distance that Gomes does well to get down to. United finishing the half strongly.
 
Half time. The game has yet to really burst into life.
 
Apologies Cafites i won't be able to do the 2nd half. Someone else can carry on if they want.
