In the cases of avram and hiddink, yes I think they improved their league positions as they were struggling quite badly when the two took over. For de matteo, he won them the CL. Doubt any chelsea fan would trade that for a better league position that season.
I think the players egos are the main problem for him. Some obviously have no respect for him. The 'who does he think he is' attitude. He's the manager, that's who he is, your boss, chosen by SAF, that's who he is. You are footballers, that is all. Get over yourselves and play. If you can't follow instructions or change your game, you certainly aren't as good as you think you are. A lot of the trophies you won are down to the previous managers skills.
I think it did put the board off. However I think Jose shows respect to people who deserve respect, not to people who think they deserve it.

The same would apply to Mourinho though. You're the leader of a rather large (and petty) anti-Mourinho movement on here, see how you've managed to deem Mourinho a failure so far for Chelsea for having them 3rd and in the CL knockouts. He'd be getting the same unwarranted stick Moyes but from different posters, hanging on every impassive comment he makes in a press conference in a desperate attempt to convince he's said something disgusting and disrespectful.
What happens if you have a really bad couple of training sessions and don't expect to be picked for the next game only to hear the team news and you're starting a hour before KO. I know people will say "for the amount they get paid... etc..." but they are only human at the end of the day and IMO being mentally ready for a game is just as important as being physically fit.
I think a while ago vs Chelsea in the UCL away SAF told Giggs he would be starting that game 4 weeks before it came around and told him to be ready for it. If my memory serves me correctly he was awesome that game.
If we could find a manager to salvage a top 4 spot this season and appoint a proper replacement in the summer we've done the right thing.
How can you say it's had a positive impact when they literally all left within a year and someone new was brought in to have a positive impact?
And didn't Grant take over directly from Mourinho? Who's now ended up coming back and taking over a worse Chelsea side than the one he was originally sacked from?
They give footballers training on how to handle the media, do managers get the same or are they just thrown in the deep end, United is definitely the deep end. He actually talks sense, but there is always that negative slant with it. Maybe someone should just tell him to be more positive. That will come with time, if he is allowed to have it and his confidence grows.
Well...eye gouging opposition coaches, and generally acting like a loose canon was going to be very endearing! That said would his antics have had such a negative impact at United? But as I said in terms of ego and self confidence not many match him...it would've been an interesting experiment.
So we can't change managers because Spurs harshly sacked their last one 4 years into his reign.Pretty much every manager gets sacked eventually.

It would be quite difficult to see him getting sacked, unless he loses the dressing room, in which case the chances would increase.
If results are still shit for the rest of December and no signs at all, I think they will make a move before the January window.

Interesting to see Noodle trying to defend Moyes at all costs after criticising SAF over the years for his line-ups. Just that Fergie actually won us things.
Outside of the elite clubs in Europe, we could approach any manager who is currently in a job and surely have enough sway to tempt.
If we lose our next two games in the league (Villa and West Ham) making it four league defeats in a row, without a win in 6, then I think he'd be sacked.

I don't get what you're issue is there. Unless you're implying that a player wouldn't want to play because they had a couple of bad training sessions?
The problem is you're living in a fantasy land where there shuldn't be any dropping off post Ferguson, despite his unparallelled management skills and a severe lack of proper investment in the squad. It was always going to happen and at the moment the team is low on confidence. I very much doubt we'll finish in 9th place. In the meantime welcome to reality.
The only reason there would be an anti Mourinho movement on here (which as far as I'm aware I'm not a leader of), is if there was a pro Mourinho movement on here, which is extremely baffling and irrational since he is the manager of Chelsea.
To be fair he's not going to get much joy, we've got some tough away fixtures coming up.
If someone brings him down it's going to be our own players. Rio's comments is the first sign. Seeing Fellaini text on his mobile under a game is another bad one. It doesn't matter what circumstances, people judge what they see and hear. So far media has been kind to him but I'm worried when they starts to smell blood, then it's just a matter of time.

Huh? Surely unless you're a complete spastic you prepare for each game as if you're going to play, in which case having a bad cuple of training sessions makes no difference to if you'd been told you were playing a few days prior?
What happens if a week before a game, Moyes tells Rio he's not playing because Smalling is, then the day before the game, Smalling gets injured and Rio hasn't bothered to prepare himself properly?
That's exactly what I'm implying. If a player doesn't expect to play then he's handed a start I don't think he would be as prepared had known about it earlier.
Sure in a ideal world the players would work their socks off and when the team sheets are posted they are at the same level they would have been all week but it doesn't work like that. With all the chopping and changing this season you could understand if certain players didn't expect to play only to be given a start and be unprepared for it.

When hiddink took over, they were going out of the top four under scolari and looked clueless. He steadied the ship, delivered a good league campaign and won them a trophy. Di matteo overturned a 3-1 deficit after taking over, something that looked beyond AVB, won them champions league and made sure they CL football for the next season as well.Grant tookover when chelsea were in fifth, and given the relationship between ambra. and mou it isnt hard to imagine that it would have derailed that season. Still he took them to a CL final and was one kick away from winning it while finishing as runner up in the league.

I didn't say tell all the player a week before training but SAF and SMB used to tell players 1-2 days before a game for them to get ready for it.
I said that example of Giggs to highlight being mentally ready is just as important as being physically fit and I question whether being told on the day of a game is the best way to go about it.
I think he'd be more likely to resign than be sacked. Really can't see us ever sacking him while Ferguson is on the board. I genuinely think we could finish 10th and he'd still be in the job, we'd just roll out some more ex players to say he needs time like Ferguson had.
