As I have said if adds goals to his game,we have potentially got one of the most complete midfielders ever.
I think the significance here is that Anderson is actually able to run at people from centre midfield. There are very few players around that do that and it's going to be so useful for us in the long term when we play against teams that pack the midfield.
did anyone else notice the look scholes had on his face when he was getting subbed on for anderson? It was an expression of 'that was a master display young padawan' if ever i saw one. very touching i thought.
And it's not just running at people, every now and again he jsut punts it forward and outsprints the whole team, he did it again against the Arse.
Yes he is, not only for his play but for his committment to the club and training and believing in himself that he can play with great players and hold his own!
His all-round game is pretty good. His passing and energy is excellent and he's chipped in with a few goals in recent years. I wish folk would give credit to the lad, because he's blanked all the criticism out and got on with improving his game!
I'll round this off by saying - if we had to use Fletch in Champions League Final I wouldnt be too downbeat, he has been immense for us in every massive game i can recall in recent years and his energy to attack and defend gets my respect everytime

I think once he starts to score a few he'll probably be a genuine contender for young player of the season. To be fair though, there have been a few columns this week that have praised his contribution.

Can't agree with this. My opinion, and one shared with the majority of the matchday crowd I'm sure, is that Anderson WAS the hands down man of the match anyway. But what difference would not playing the last 18 minutes make to that when the game is over at 3-0 and the opposition down to 10 men? He was the best player when the game was at the critical point of being won. A contribution during an effectively dead game at the end surely cannot compare

I got home and watched the match again on TV and i'm pretty sure that had i not gone to the match, the best player on the field in my mind would've been Rooney. There are some things you see at the game that you simply do not see on television. Anderson was truly immense.

Yep, when your at the game you notice the movement, and impact Anderson had, it was the first time i'd seen him live.

What we're saying is that the matchday crowd get the true picture of events, while the television watchers have aspects of the game masked from their awareness. Which makes the worth of the match goers opinion more valuable, although not necessarily correct (if one can have a 'correct' opinion on an issue of personal judgement)

But United played so well that any one of about 5 players could have got the plaudits... Anderson, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Rooney... even Evra.

The Daily Mail today gave Anderson MOTM with a 9/10 rating. They also mentioned that Nani was right to rub Arsenal's nose in it and that Arsenal should be punished for failing to control the players.
