Didn't seem to dive today. In fact he was skipping past challenges and tackles all day

Glad he didn't do it today, have seen him maybe about a dozen times and in about 11 of those he's been diving

LOL - the caf just went into muppet overdrive

Indeed, this in particular will go down as one of the great caf quotes...

And I don't doubt that he'll be remembered along with them in the history books.

Madly gifted player. I would love him, but no chance.

I wasn't hugely impressed today. He scored an excellent Beckham esque freekick and showed a few nice touches but wasn't out of this world. I did like the look of Oscar though, he kept the ball well and most good things went through him - only my opinion but I Think Chelsea have a gem there!

Neymer was excellent from what I saw. Direct, single minded. A real threat

Totally muppet behavior this but I think United should blow this summer's and next summer's transfer budget and get this guy.

He was absolutely awesome this afternoon. The new Ronaldinho for sure!

Lots of good performers for Brazil but this guy was head & shoulders better than others.

...cold night in Stoke etc...

He displays many of the same traits as Robinho, particularly a lack of footballerliness, that's why I'd suggest he'll end up at the same level. I could be wrong but more times I'm right.

What the fook does that even mean?

Sadly he'll be bound for Real or Barca. A lot of promising Brazilians coming through at the moment, if we can get any of them to add to Rafael we've probably got ourselves a star. Neymar, Moura, and Oscar do look the bollocks.

Does that mean I can't pass comment on Neymar now?

Just seemed like an odd one. A lot of great players were very greedy (and continued to be greedy) and made bad decisions when young.

Not saying he will be great or anything.

God I hope he doesn't get really good, it'll be Messi v Ronaldo, V Neymar.

I'd rather we got a midfielder

This interests me actually. On first glance, i agree with you. But then Neymar is an outrageous talent. We could have one of the best players in the world with us.

As much as i want a CM myself, just feel that a Neymar would be hard to turn down even if it means another season without a new CM. On the short run, we definitely need a CM more, but long term, getting a Neymar would be enough for me to be happy with what we have at CM for a season ;).

Its all hypothetical as he's already going to Barca obviously but still an interesting choice.

PS- We should still get atleast some sort of backup for Carrick.

He nutmegged someone with a header as a first touch, if we were to spunk money on a Brazilian I'd like it to be this one, however a midfielder is far more important. So yeah, he's class and he dives and he reminds me a wee bit of Cristiano Ronaldo minus the physicality but I really couldn't care less.

I think your remarks will be used by someone in a few years time.

he's a tit. blessed with pocket loads of talent and skill, but attitude isn't something any sane United fan would want near the club.

Why do certain united fans seem to think we only have 'angels' in our club who are good people? Cantona, as much of a legend as he was, had a huge attitude. Keane is a cnut of the highest order, and we all know what happened with giggs (which made me lose all respect for him as a person).

I don't see why we should care how they act off the pitch, or what type of person they are as long as they perform on the pitch. And a talent like neymar doesn't come along very often, which is why any sane fan would want a player like him at their club.
Saying that there is no way that we ever even had a chance to get him.

Regardless of what issues or characteristics each player had, when it came to United all respected the badge and that attitude continued on to the pitch. When they stopped doing that they were dealt with accordingly.

Sorry but what has Neymar done that Ronaldo / Nani never did?

Sure he dives but god they were the worst for it too.

There's nothing to say he wouldnt respect the club though. Ronaldo was a huge diver and has so many hissy fits it was unreal, but still he has and still does talk extremely highly of the club and Ferguson in particular. Just because a player acts a certain way on the pitch doesn't mean that necessarily defines them as a person.

Take for example Messi. Seeing him on the pitch you would assume he is a flash git off it but he isn't.

I would love Neymar at the club but all the hype surrounding him would mean that he would be outrageously expensive in terms of transfer fee and is already on ridiculous wages which he would want to substantially increase

We are much more likely to get Lucas who isn't quite as hyped and on modest wages. I would be ecstatic to get Neymar as he is clearly a brilliant footballer who will improve but can't help feel he is better suited to Barcelona purely because its not the kind of transfer we go for.

Sport is currently reporting this:

Santos attacker Neymar (20) has informed Barcelona he'd like to join them this summer. Club directors will discuss it with coaches. [sport]

Would be a surprise if it happens this summer already. Priority was a CB. Officially that is ...

I think it will be next summer he goes off to Barcelona if the reports of his contract being up at 2014 are true, this summer it would be very surprising if it happens.
