Pardon me for asking if you're not a Barca fan why should you care about their other transactions ? They'll always find money/increase their debts to get the players they want and even if the price is steep

Not if the FFP is implemented though. They're the club to beat in the CL and seeing as thats the trophy United are after every season, i'd like Barca to pay top dollor for Neymar because an extra 15mil that goes there could have otherwise been spent on another player.

I guess I'd rather hope to see United improve as a United and win trophies than see others weaken or in trouble with UEFA regulations.Plus I don't see how they're the team to beat in the CL anymore.

Thats interesting. Who do you think is it then? As i see it, they only need 1 CB. Why they bought Song this summer and not a CB i dont know.

Regarding the point, I want us to improve just like you but the gap is quite significant tbh. Them going down a notch would be good for us ;).

Because Barca have fallen off a level imo. They dont seem as good as they were couple of seasons back specially at the back. Nothing 1 quality CB cannot set right.

A CB would improve them but I think their football has lost some its spark. Now it's more like the Messi show in terms of goals and assists.I prefer to watch them the year they made the treble. The goals were spread around the front strikers and the midfielders were at their best (not that they have become shit or anything).
For instance Xavi and 08/09 had a flawless season.Insane playmaking and creativity. You had Messi/Alves on the right with some great linking up and football. You had Eto'o and you even had Henry who was good that season.
Now there's still a very good team and among the top 2 with Real but it's different, it's hard to explain it clearly

Yeah, i agree with that. Their standard has gone down a bit. I still see them as better than anyone else though specially if they get a CB.

Anyways, we're dragging the thread off topic.

They need a new striker as well as a CB. When they had Villa on form they were unstoppable. They've been missing that since his injury. Sanchez is no substitute for that kind of player.

We should get Villa. Get the last few years out of him with him, RvP and Rooney up top.

Sanchez is a shadow of his former self at Barca.

Was going to post the exact same thing.

Taking a player and making him fit into the Barca style when he needs the chance to be more individual hasn't worked. I actually thought when they were bringing him in they were finally going to create a strategy plan B, instead they just forced him to fit into the current system.

Sanchez just isnt what he was made out to be and I've said this for a long time. He never had the technical ability to fit in at Barca and I was happy they signed him as it made them that bit easier to play against.

Disagree, he does have the technical ability and he was everything he was made to be for me. He just wasn't a player that suited Barca nor one they needed. Ibra was the same.

He was built up as Messi mk 2 on here. In amongst all the 'oh noes, barca are getting better' there were a few that said this would happen. Glad we didnt get him.

He wasn't to Messi's standard but I did and do believe if he'd have kept developing the way he was he would have been a Balon D'or contender eventually. I actually do think if we'd have signed him he would have flourished. As I've said if Nani is off, then get him in.

Sanchez is one of the very few players in the world who I'd be happy with as a replacement for Nani. What are the chances Neymar's arrival would push him out? We'd just have to hope Barca haven't tiki-taka'd all the flair and invention he showed at Udinese out of him.

Small I'd say. Villa will be out next due to his age.

Neymar, messi, Sanchez, pedro, Cuenca and tello

Scored a hatrick and got an assist in a 4-0 win a few days ago, he is brilliant IMO.

There were people in the newbies saying he isn't even the best player in the Brazilian league, and some that he isnt even in the top ten players in the league, which of course is ludicrous.

He reminds me a bit of George Best in terms of his balance and the way he glides past players.

If there is one player we should raid the bank for then it is him for me.

 What a bunch of Haters...

Horribly missed penalty at a time when his team really needed him to score it... that's it, he's proven his pedigree as a top player once and for all!

Is it just me or has he got a halfway sensible haircut for once?

EDIT: Just realised the sarcasm in that first line reads two ways. I'm saying one or two badly-timed penalty misses are almost a requirement to be a top player.

Terrible penalty, he's usually reliable. Love the obligatory blame-the-penalty-spot that all players do!

With the way he put it down into the turf it's extremely difficult hit it that high, let alone accidentally.

I imagine the ball popped up when he planted his weight on the other foot.

Really poor penalty. I don't think it would have gone in even if the goals were twice as high.

There are a lot of people obsessed with Neymars hair.....

Brilliant:

Santos coach Muricy Ramalho on why his side have picked up multiple fines for delaying the starts of matches. "Neymar cannot begin without attending to his hair, his earrings, everything. People pick on him, but his image is part of his art." Neymar told the press in April: "I'm not pretty like Beckham, but I do buy clothes, I do take care. I shave my legs with a little machine I have. I do it in team meetings."
