feck Pepe's such a cretin. Up there with my Busquets and Suarez bracket of hate.

Neymar's settling n well & he's providing exactly what Barca was missing on attack last season - someone to create something when Messi is being triple marked.

I still think their defence is a joke though.

FCBarca, do you think Neymar's been better than Messi this season thus far? Another good performance tonight, though his finishing was a bit off. Amazing change in speed and dribbling skills displayed again. The scary thing is that he's not fully integrated into the side just yet.

Personally, I think it's pointless to compare anyone to Messi - I think Neymar is years away from that sort of talk. What I do think is that we saw a glimpse of the future Barcelona with Neymar playing in that false 9 position that Leo currently owns. He looked very natural there and the team was more dynamic. I suppose I'm more concerned that kneejerk reactions will be soon calling for Neymar to play there more often - and then Cruyff's comments about 2 Captains might come into play.

And I agree about the scary part, he's much further along than I imagined he'd be after 10 matches. You have to really look but it's there and it's building. Couldn't be happier with him really

Is there a gif of a skill he done a week or so back, where he faked a chip pass but actually flicked it over someones head with his first touch and ran round to get the ball back himself? was such a quality piece of skill.

Personally I think he's a good plan B if t Messi gets marked out the game easily, or it is too congested in the middle.

Busquets
Fabregas Iniesta
Messi Neymar Sanchez

What does that mean for Messi though? He's as untouchable as they come. Unless he might drop deeper, into the hole in a few years? Personally I can't see it myself tbh.

What the addition of Neymar did do though was give you guys some depth, especially with Messi out. Hopefully that over-reliance on Messi will begin to fade, the more Neymar settles in.

Was it mockney going on a rant about his quasi-irrational dislike for Neymar? I'm in the same boat. His antics last night are an embarrassment to the game. Horrible little scrote.

Yeah it was Mockney. Was a funny rant.

It means, eventually as in not right now. Messi could drop deeper into a Xavi role or simply play as a center forward. For now, Neymar will be invaluable on that left side but I saw a glimpse of the future last night and Neymar will eventually play in that false 9 role

Leave the crystal ball at home FC! ;)

Yeah i know you meant eventually. It's just quite a way down the line. Messi's not exactly old (what is he 27? now), but agreed, dropping deeper will allow Messi more space and that vision and through balls

Messi is perfect where he is right now, no need to fix that.. Barcelona should have spent the money on a defender, but if Neymar becomes a world-class player in 3-4 years then I may admit that it was a good deal for Barcelona.

He is a despicable little cock swallowing twatburger of a person.

Usually I'd agree but Scott Brown is a disgrace. Does things like that every week. It was nice to see him finally get punished.

That's neither here nor there. The contact was minimal and on his arm, not his back. Brown was stupid and deserved the punishment for that alone. Neymar's cheating was unbelievable and should also have been punished.

He's an awesome player and I'm glad I've seen him live but the treatment he received from the fans afterwards compared to Iniesta who got a standing ovation on his way off is telling. He could do with learning from one or two of his teammates as far as class and earning respect goes.

it will happen sooner than 3-4 years. Only thing missing is adjustment to a new league.

I didn't see the match last night - is there any footage of this twattery?

Neymar seems like another highly telented asshat who inexplicably still feels the need to cheat every time he steps on the pitch. He should fit right in at Barca.

He clearly made contact with his back..

Besides Neymar was looking the other way around, so he would not have "seen" the kick, he could have only felt it.

Regardless what you think of Neymar, that was a clear red for me. Stupid by Brown. Neymar on the other hand surely milked it to make sure the ref gets his red card out.

While he did overreact that Celtic player is a bit of an idiot to put himself in that situation, I mean seriously at 0-0 why the feck would you do something like that? Neymar being a bit stupid there but the Celtic player has bought it upon himself there.

Whether he exaggerated the contact or not, it's a clear sending off, so I don't know what you're on about.

Iniesta can be an absolute cock as well.

(excuse the music)

I feel out of love with football a bit that day and Iniesta was as guilty as anyone for that.

And right in perfect view of the ref, Brown much less Lennon can have little to complain about. No reason for it whatsoever

Love the music in that Iniesta video, really sets the mood

Exactly, maybe you'll know better but heard he pulled a yellow card out first and then got the red out. Did the assistants get involved? Some have suggest the Barca players put pressure on him but I've never seen a ref go from having a yellow card out to give a red due to pressure by players.

As for Neymar, he should better than to roll about like that but foreign players do that and you have to make sure you don't put yourself in that position where you allow them to take advantage. British players will kick the shit out of players and that is deemed fair game here whereas diving or play acting is frowned upon but if you ask me both are as bad as each other.

Fwiw, I think the referee was being swayed by the players and fans all game when it came to certain decisions, not particularly in favour of one team over another.

Referees in the champions league are awful, we have it good in the PL which is saying something!

I feel like you've answered your own question.

And it feels like you've clearly missed the point. Brown took an unnecessary swipe at him. It doesn't matter if Neymar acted juvenile, it's a red card...

Skip to about 45 seconds in. The contact with his back is so minimal to the extent it's like a brush against it. I think Brown was trying to sweep his arm from under him. Petulant and stupid and deserving of the punishment by letter of the law. You'll note the referee has the yellow card out until Neymar rolls around and the Barcelona brigade arrive protesting then he puts it away and gets out a red. Letter of the law only applies to the smaller teams against the likes of Barcelona, Madrid and co. If it didn't then Neymar would have been booked multiple times for simulation.

And you're right, of course he milked it for that reason and for me, stuff like that is a bigger cancer to the game than some petulant arsehole taking pettiness to new levels.

Watching all the gimps going mental declaring their hatred for Neymar only makes me want him to succeed more. Talk about delusion, people need to get a grip.

On the contrary, it's you who has missed the point, seeing as not only have I not argued the case of the red card either way, but I even went as far as specifically saying that I hadn't see the incident. In the very post you quoted.

I was talking about him in general, and his twatty cheating antics.

I wouldn't class that tap Brown gave him on the back as a swipe myself.

If Brown took a swipe at Neymar chances are the little prick might not have to fake being hurt.

This; his antics can be annoying but some of the reactions are extremely OTT.

feck me, that's embarrasing.

If disliking the fact that exceptionally talented footballers resort to cheating makes you a gimp then pass me a mask.

The pundits on Sky Sports for the goals last night (Carragher Wright and Hoddle) all made a good point that it was a nothing kick, but it was stupid and merited a red. It's the fact that if you were going to do something like that and obviously get caught, why not crank up the power to 100% and smash the little fecker to pieces! Then he will have a real reason to roll about.

He is in no doubt a brilliant football, and will most probably be Brazils all time goalscorer by the time he retires. It's just a shame he is one of the biggest pricks around. He suits the Barca system perfectly both in Cnutishness and in style
