Sunday 26th February 2012
Barclays Premier League
Carrow Road
KO: 1330 GMT

Team should be...

GK: De Gea

RB: Smalling
CB: Evans
CB: Ferdinand
LB: Evra

RM: Nani
CM: Carrick
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Rooney
CF: Welbeck

Subs: Amos, Rafael, Jones, Cleverley, Young, Berbatov, Hernandez

Need as much height as possible to deal with Holt and co hence Smalling in at RB in place of Rafa. Tough tough game, we'll do well to get 3 points.

I don't like to see Scholes and Giggs starting together.

I'd rather start Young on the wing (I know) and Giggs in the middle with Carrick or Giggs out wide with Cleverley in the middle... or even Park on the wing.

This is a difficult game. 4-3-3 please with Carrick,Scholes and Cleverley in the middle.

10 points in last 5. Only us and City are in better form.

Carrick-Scholes-Cleverley hopefully in the middle. Giggs or Park out wide on the left, Nani on the right and Rooney up top. Need to control this game. If nothing is going and it's still 0-0 at HT then bring on a striker.

I think that SAF will go 4-4-2. Got 4 fit strikers and none of them are in bad form. Carrick and Scholes are sure to start in the middle. Best way for us to dominate possession with a two man midfield.

^ Won't happen.

Evans will start.

Code:
                de Gea

Smalling Evans Ferdinand Evra

 Nani Carrick Scholes Young

           Welbeck Rooney

SUBS:
Amos, Rafael, Jones, Cleverley, Giggs, Berbatov, Hernandez

This is what alot want to see, or with Ando in there. Can't see us going with it ever though, shame as it would be awesome.

DDG

Rafael Smalling Evans Evra

Cleverly Carrick Anderson

Nani Rooney Welbeck

So what exactly is on Norwich's badge anyway? Some bird on a ball, and then some weird castle with a Bart Simpson ghost lion underneath it.

Why can't he play with a sore throat? Just don't shout.

#SAF: "#Rooney is still out at the moment (Norwich). So we will have to wait and see. We're trying our best." #mufc

If he's not training then obviously its more than just a sore throat.

It's a throat infection which will make him feel weak and tired, I've had plenty of them over the years and they are fecking horrible.

Although I do agree with what someone posted above, anti-biotics should clear it up in 3-5 days.

Can't play premier league football with a throat infection or a flu without collapsing I'd reckon.

This will be a tough game. I think if we win it will be a close 1-0 and not overly exciting.

Everyone will moan etc...

Worried.

Without Rooney we have significantly less drive and creativity. We are a different side without him.

Even Rooney's biggest critics must admit there is a very big drop-off in quality without him. Welbeck, Hernandez and Berbs are all great but none can offer as much as Rooney does.

De Gea

Rafael----------Evans---------Smalling----------Evra

Carrick---------------Scholes

Nani-------------Welbeck/Giggs-------------Young

Hernandez

Why is this at 1:30 when it's not on TV because of the London Derby?

I somehow didn't realize until now the match was on Sunday not Saturday...

Its a shame we won't get to see the derby. Was looking forward to that.

Expecting a tricky game, moreso than our trips to Swansea or QPR earlier in the season. Don't think we should be playing a lone striker, especially Welbeck. He did well in the role against L'pool in the cup but he was never a goal scoring threat in the game as he was constantly dropping deep to help out the midfield. I'd go with -

DDG

Jones
Smalling
Evans
Evra

Nani
Scholes
Carrick
Giggs

Welbeck
Hernandez

Subs
Amos
Rio
Fabio
Rafael
Young
Bebatov
Park

Fergie said they were working on getting him fit. So it might be touch and go before kickoff.

The lone striker wouldn't be such a bad idea if it were Hernandez with Wellbeck coming in from behind/the right of him. With your team there we'd have plenty of midfield with scoring/supplying capacity.

I reckon we will score first then take our foot of the gas, sit back and wait for them to equalise, then we will make it 1-2 and then sit back again inviting them on to us before they make it 2-2 in the 93rd minute prompting the caf to explode with cries of complacency and shite goalkeeping mixed with rotation leading to another massive let down, you heard it first here.

I dont think we should risk rooney, as potentially tricky as this could be we need him more for spurs....not worth the risk.

If we go with a lone striker and Rooney's not fit it has to be Berbatov for me. Welbeck and Hernandez have both proved they are not as effective in the role, and while this isn't Berba's best position either, he surely should start over the other two in this case as he's had success there before.
