Wenger's on his way to Rome.
They're fans must be pissed off, we've replaced Van Persie before they did.
Why can't they sign anyone?
I mean, they're not an attractive club decent location, nice stadium, big fanbase, good wages, bit of history. Admittedly on all of those points they can be outcompeted by other teams, but still, surely they can compete?
No although your spending has been shit, it doesn't make theirs particularly impressive.
Cheers! Revenge for RvP and Silvestre.Just when I was thinking they could be dragged into a race for fourth we give them Welbeck.

He's your best striker for me. Better than Giroud. Annoying.Cheers! Revenge for RvP and Silvestre.
makes sense, seeing as he's actually fit for most of each season which is probably baffling the Arsenal doctors.Sky reporting he's failed his medical.
He's an improvement on what we have available to us. Maybe he'll do a Sturridge. Underwhelmed though but I expected this level of signign.

Class above Sturridge, van Gaal is a knob selling him to us, he'll end up doing a bigger demolition job on Man Utd than Moyes at this rate.

Lot of tears in the other thread. A hearty breakfast!
I haven't heard a single person say Wenger out.Wonder how the Arsenal fans in an Arsenal forum are taking to Wenger missing out on Falcao and getting Welbeck instead. Weren't the Wenger out brigade in full force earlier today. Intrigued as to what the mood in the general gooner fanbase is with this signing.
I think he'll definitely improve us in the short term (hopefully he'll 'do a Sturridge' in the long run), and a Sanchez-Welbs-Walcott front three with Ozil behind sounds fun...
But I just had higher hopes for the window. We've improved, but not enough to take us close to City or Chelsea. 3rd is the highest we'll finish and 4th the lowest.
Better than Lukaku for half the money, better than Balotelli with a full complement of sandwiches.Wonder how the Arsenal fans in an Arsenal forum are taking to Wenger missing out on Falcao and getting Welbeck instead. Love how people think he'll do a Sturridge. Just because they're both English and dark skinned, doesn't mean they're similar players. 1 is a good striker and 1 is not.If Welbeck does a Sturridge we'll win the title.
That's why it's an 'if'.Love how people think he'll do a Sturridge. Just because they're both English and dark skinned, doesn't mean they're similar players. 1 is a good striker and 1 is not.
Most of our significant spending has been done post-inflation. Add on at least another 100m for City if they had to buy those players like Aguero, Silva, Nasri and Dzeko in today's market. They also conveniently have left out a shit load of players that they don't have anymore, like Robinho as an example. yes, players like him aren't in the squad anymore..but they went through a fair few signings like that to come up with what they have now. Same with Chelsea. There's no comparison to our situationWhen you look at this (below) and realise United's squad now cost over €520m with the addition of Di Maria & Blind, and that both United & rival fans believe multiple changes in personnel are still required and that both Carrick and RvP will be at the end of their useful careers within 2 years, then it's difficult not to think United have blown a lot.
Free transfers and players coming up from the reserve/youth are obviously excluded from these lists.

Actually no. Make all the excuses you like but the chart shows what the chart shows ....... the actual cost of your CURRENT squad. There's no evading that no matter how you try to spin it.Most of our significant spending has been done post-inflation. Arsenal is the only team there that I will stand up and clap for.
These charts are always useless because they fail to take things like that into account.
