Arsenal's must-win game at the san siro is this week's pick for the telly broadcasters, so if anyone knows from where a weblink will be available much appreciated.

The Arse are in for a real tough game against Inter, they just trashed someone 6-0 . I predict a score draw or an Inter win and the Arse go OUT!!!.

Arsenal will most probably be kicked out. but hte recent form they've shown, means inter will have a tough job in beating them.

yeah..Inter has been playing very well under Zacheronni..

Good point. We have to win the next two games to finish top of the group and avoid the tougher draw. Stuttgart will beat the hopeless Gers.
We need to field the best side. Worry about Chelsea after that.

No we don't, if we assume Stuttgart beat the hopeless Gers, our result in Greece means NOTHING.

Win, draw or lose we'd need to beat Stuttgart at home to win the group, so we might as well field some reserves and save everyone for Chelski. :smirk:

My line-up

Howard
Neville P (Gary has picked up a few knocks recently)
Ferdinand
Silvestre
O'Shea
Fletcher
Djemba (sub in Kleberson at some point)
Butt
Ronaldo
Giggs
Forlan

Subs
Eagles
Richardson
Neville G
Carroll
Kleberson

I think Carroll, Eagles & co should get a game. This game is really unimportant.

I can't see Rangers getting anything in Germany.

is Fortune not available or suspended, just wondering, he played really well against Blackburn laying off both goals, his weighted pass to Kleberson was excellent .

it's important for that fact alone, we want to finish ahead of stutgart. Pana have been crap this season anyway, so it won't be a problem :smirk:

:wenger:

We're fighting to win the group. It would be unimportant if we already had 12 points and our nearest competitors had 5.

I disagree - Cal is right here.
If we lose and Stuttgart win, we need to beat Stuttgart at home.
If we win and Stuttgart win, we need to beat Stuttgart at home.
If we win and Stuttgart draw/lose, we need to draw/beat Stuttgart at home.
[Unlikely]

On this basis, i'd say let a couple of the lesser lights play.
I never agree with throwing 3/4 new players into a team. Adding 1/2 to a stable setup is far better for the players coming in that totally reshaping a team.

How many times do I have to repeat myself?

Assuming Stuttgart beats Rangers, we need to beat Stuttgart to win the group regardless of the result in Greece. We could beat Panathanaikos 10-0 or lose 10-0 and it won't make the slightest difference.

Although it's highly unlikely, Rangers can still go to Germany and get a victory on Wednesday night. In that case, we would still need a point to go through. I don't think we should take anything for granted. Except possibly for Keano, who might not be able to play 3 matches in a week, we should start with our strongest line-up.

Otherwise, we're all going to be kicking ourselves if Rangers get a result in Germany, we lose against Panathanikos...and we're in the position of having to get a result against a stubborn Stuttgart side simply to qualify for the next round.

Rangers are not going to win in Germany, they are useless away from home (and not much better at home).

Anyway, I'd fancy us to beat ANYONE at Old Trafford (Real Madrid & AC Milan included), I don't think Stuttgart poses the same threat.

Ive had a slight change of heart, but I still dont think we should put out a team a la Macabai Haifa away last year.

----------------Carroll-------------------
G.Neville---O'Shea----Rio---Fortune----
----------Djemba---Butt-------------------
-Fletcher-----Kleberson---Giggs----------
-------------Forlan----------------------

Subs:
Steele
Johnson
Eagles
P.Neville
RvN

Will RvN not play for sure?

PAO are pure shite.

When I was there 3 weeks ago they cheered us off the pitch and wanted to go at their players´ throats. Gate13 boycotted the match.

'Assuming' being the key term.

Even if Rangers get a draw in Germany, we're already through, I simply cannot see Rangers winning in Germany, that would be as unlikely as Fulham doing everyone a favour and winning at the Library this Sunday.

I suppose you would have felt the same about Fulham winning at O/T. There are no gurantees in football. United cannot depend on others doing their job. We need to do our job. In Anycase I dont think we will be all wiped out because we play a full team Wednesday. If we are two goals up SAF may rest some of our VIP players.

With all that travelling to Greece & back, I think it puts us in a very weak position against the huge squad of Chelski.

IMHO, Keano, Ruud & Giggsy shouldn't even travel to Greece. We can get the point we need playing a half first team, half reserves combination.

Give Keane, Phil, Giggsy and Gaz a rest.

:nono: Ruud needs a rest more than anyone.

It's a late afternoon match against Chelsea on Sunday so I don't think the travel is going to pose a major problem. It'd be a different story if it was an early kick-off on Saturday.

From our first-team, I'd proabably rest Keano because 3 matches a week might be too much for him. Giggsy was rested for most of the Blackburn match, so he should be fine for Wednesday. And after the Holland matches, RVN is flying and the matches probably can't come fast enough for him.

Cal said:

Ruud will not rest - he's the type of player who feels he has to be top scorer again the the CL (again (and again)). Would you be the manager who prevents him from doing that?
Ruud will play!

:nono: :nono: He can't. He must be rested. For all those who have seen Blackburn match. He was exhasuted after 60 minutes. I want him fresh for the chelski match rather than breaking some feckin weird reckords in CL. He was the best scorer in this comp for the last two seasons and we won nothing. Maybe this is not an authoritative argument but it shows something.

I ll even put Tierney at CB to give him some experience

Agreed but I'd rest Giggsy too and play Ron.

Does anyone know anywhere on the net where there will be a webcast of the match or a radio feed????
