That sounds like they mean there were a lot of casualties..Reports now say there may have been survivors.
The closest thing that I remember was 1979 Pakhtakor FC plane crash and it took a while for city of Tashkent to recover and get a new team in.
RIP, really sad.
Yes, but from my memory. Manchester crash was almost 60 years ago.Wait, there's a plane crash involving a football team and you don't immediately think of Manchester United?
The Guardian says only 6 survivors reported, but it's all unclear at the moment. Two players have definitely been admitted to hospital. So they were heading to play the 2nd leg of their Europa League equivalent? ;(
Reddit saying lots of survivors
Might have been my tired state - but the BBC and Guardian headlines were designed to read as that IMO.Turned on my sky news app this morning and headline flashes that Brazil team plane has crashed. I dont want to sound like this was Any less tragic, but my immidiate thought was Brazil national team. Such a clickbait headline
First headlines from American press was:
Plane carrying 81 passengers and crew, including Brazilian soccer team, crashes in Colombia
My heart immediately sank due to the ambiguity of that headline.
