Performance aside, a point away in our hardest fixture of the season is fine by me. We played badly but we'll bounce back next week, we had a lot of injuries, I'm not too concerned. There was an obvious game plan, I didn't like it one bit but it was definitely there.

A full side we probably would have played better but Jose respects Klopp too much

Poor all round really.

Mkhitarian went missing.

Darmian offered no attacking support down the left and was gassed after an hour.

Herrera was like a headless chicken.

Even De Geas distribution was off.

Take the point and move on.

That was shit, but not a bad result. We need more game changers. Mkhitaryan is garbage in big games. Replacing him with a player like De Bryune or Eriksen would give us so much more of an attacking outlet.

The exact result and performance Mourinho set up for. Hate watching us play like that but can't deny it's a decent point all the same.

We're usually poor at anfield but even still, that was awful. Liverpool very much deserved the win.

Could have easily played for another 90min without scoring. Quite genuinely reminded me of watching Burnley today.
True but that was usually because we were bullied off the ball and pinned back. Last year and this year were very different, we were poor because we approach those games like a small team. There is zero difference between our approach and that of lower table teams when they go to top ones. Even if we win the league, this would not make it any less embarrassing.

That empty feeling when you know you killed a game to scrape a draw in an iconic derby.

Hungover again after Intl break. We got a point and kept a clean sheet. Mane would have destroyed us though.

Pogs we need you back!

Complete bollocks we didn't dominate and get our first 5-0 of the season. Anfield is a piece of piss, MourinhOUT.

I'll take the point, but jesus christ when is José going to grow some balls and believe in his players? We are much better than that shite today, we are capable of attacking teams and playing good football. Why must he always shit the bed against a team half decent?

This was our real first test this season, and tbh we came up short imo. Apart from that Lukaku chance, we never ever looked like scoring, never seem to want to the ball and as soon as we got it we just gave it straight back to them for more of the same. Attack vs defence. Utter dross!

Mourinho: we will play with 9 strikers and 1 defenders. That was a clue.

Mourinho: It’s just 3 points and you prepare for it the same way as any other game. Well, we didn’t look like the same team as all our other games.

Good point for United considering the performance but I’m feeling disappointed we didn’t win.

I think Mourinho bottled it a bit. We were there to be got at but he still insisted on trying to stop us from playing.

That's a fair enough analysis, I think most on here will be disappointed we didn't go for it more, but big games under Mourinho are often a bit like that.

I think your lot will be disappointed you weren't more clinical.

LVG-like display.
Although that was the whole point of Mourinho's game plan.
Don't like his approach to big games like this, but at the end of the day, if we win the league, there's nothing to complain.
Still boring though..

LVG's team put in one of the best Anfield performances I can remember. This was a lot worse.

I hope that time will return soon where our fans, players and most importantly manager will realise and appreciate the fact that we are Manchester United, we shouldn't be playing like this. But I suppose we no longer live in an age where traditions mean anything. Honestly would rather see us lose if we at least try to win, rather than playing like this and getting a point.

Solid point, 10 -15 minutes of the second half only really poor period.

Sloppy in attack though. Didn't create much, which was not only down to the tactics. As is usual after international break sadly.

I happily take draws away against top 6 though

Jose came for a draw and he got it. Tactical point I guess.

I would have understood if it was Spurs away or City away, but we should have gone for the win here. So a bit disappointed, but it could have been worse. Pogba coming back will be a huge boost for us.

Mikhi was terrible again. I'd rather Lingard play in big matches than him. Useless player.

Abject display, looked like we couldn't string 2 passes together. Liverpool didn't even need to raise their game much.

At least we didn't lose.

I’m fine with the score. Onwards from here, we were always going to have some bad performances along the way. I’d take a draw all day for those.

Absolute shit. I understand the tactic of sitting deep. But this was horrid. Herrera was awful, second half I don't think he completed one of his long passes. Matic look knackered.

I'm not happy with that point. I would have been happy with a point, if we defended well, tried to play a little. But I'm not happy with that point. Feels like a loss. Can't believe I waited two weeks for that shit match.

Other the DDG, Smalling and Jones. Everyone was shit. I expect more, simple as that.

How do you deserve to win without scoring? If they did, they would have scored.

I don't understand this. A team doesn't deserve to win because they tried to play, that's not how football works.

We were shit, yes - - > in attack.
We very much deserved the point we got as we nullified Liverpool attacks.

Pragmatic my arse.

Have some faith in your fecking players Jose. This was utterly pathetic. But we got the point? This performance is like going to Hull for a point, or Everton for a point.

I'd rather lose but have a go, every single day of the week.

Was such a shit game and should have lost by at least two, but it's all about the points if you want to win the league, and a point away to Liverpool is not to be sniffed at.

We're usually poor at anfield but even still, that was awful. Liverpool very much deserved the win.
Not really, they didn't score a goal against us so I can't see why they deserved to win.

The result is fine, what I saw of the match wasn't good. Liverpool needed to win it more than we did, though.

Good point, I'm happy with that. Have only lost 1 Premier League game at Anfield since 2011, and that was with Moyes. Still unbeaten this season, 1 win in 7 for Liverpool. Huddersfield & Tottenham games are important.

Poor performance. So, so defensive against one of the league’s worst defences. Got a point but in reality we got hammered. In regards to the question, are we the real deal or are we flattering to deceive? Well that games made me even more uncertain. City are certainly the team to beat especially after beating the champions on their own patch.

Our passing and technique under pressure are so shit as a team. No composure whatsoever.

Decent point. We rarely play well at Anfield. In fact my favourite game there of recent years, the Sheasy game in 2007, saw one of our worst performances that season. I'd hoped to nick it late but we couldn't. Fair enough.

As long as we keep beating the lesser sides, drawing against the big teams is fine.

Very little quality. A lesson for those saying we don't need Pogba. We couldn't string two passes together all game.

Also very little need to play Ashley Young in my opinion, who has been no more than an average player for many a year now.
We miss Pogba a lot.

As bad as anything vg or moyes served up. 1 shot on target 90% of the time couldnt string 2 passes together and resorted to hoofbal. Made Liverpool look like Brazil 70. Why play like this? We wont be winning the Premier if we are frightened of the 'big' teams

This fixture is out of the way and we are still undefeated. Dreadful spectacle though and creating one chance in 90 minutes against a leaky defence is a poor return.

I might get a lot of grief for this but despite our league position if we continue playing poorly in games like this then I'll begin to question whether or not Mourinho's right for us. Under SAF we didn't always play well but I always felt there was a chance we could nick the game.

I guess it was a necessary decision to play this way. Looking at the players out there (Herrera, Smalling, Young, Mkhi, Darmian and Lingard later on) if we'd attacked we'd have been well beaten by a team far more up for the game and with better quality in attacking positions.

Very pleased with the draw. Pool away is my least favourite game of the year so am happy that we didn’t lose and that it’s out of the way.

First half we were okay, though Lukaku should have scored. Second half we were abysmal and was really painful viewing. Still, we did just enough to keep Liverpool at bay.

Would have taken the point before and do now. Going to Anfield is always shit.
