Wigan 0:1 Man Utd - Dalot (22')

Wigan 0:2 Man Utd - Bruno (74' pen)

Comfortable win, hopefully the likes of Amad and Gore get a look in for the next round.

Great win & in to the next round with what should hopefully be a very winnable game. Could've been by a much bigger margin, but pretty decent performance all round, with Mainoo the outstanding player out there tonight imo.

Boring. The fact that we didn't put 5 past this lot is indicative of how pathetic we are in front of goal.

Solid dive by Bruno, though, taking advantage of the no VAR.

An incredibly dominant and comfortable win, that still somehow managed to be kind of embarrassing

Though albeit less so than the commentators desperately attempting to drum up controversy over a stone wall penalty that VAR would’ve given 100 times out of 100

What a club

Thought only Mainoo and Garnacho looked good. Few others looked decent. Thought the usual suspects looked very poor, even against this level of opposition.

Time to add another 2 hours to "sadistic ways I love to torture myself in my spare time" counter.

Decent performance, should have scored a lot more though. Dalot and Mainoo very good. A little bit worried about Hojlund but can't fault his effort.

A lot of enjoyable stuff but was very easy overall and slightly disappointing we didn't take more chances.

Finally, a competition that we’ve scored more than we’ve conceded in.

Good win. Nothing new in terms of goal scoring. Expected a bit more chances after the first half, but overall happy with the result.

Got the result, finishing lessons required (as has been the case for a long time).

Great win?

Seriously, is this how bad it's got?

That was terrible to watch. Mourinho ball was more enjoyable. At least Jose's teams looked dangerous on the counter. We play slow, unambitious football that tends to have a limp finish at the end of it.

Premier League teams do not allow you to miss as much as we did tonight, Premier League teams punish such pace lacking and unforced errors.

A match to explain why we're fully midtable right now. The only positives I take from the game are Mainoo and Garnacho. This team looks like it needs tearing up from the roots.

Mainoo and Garnacho are great talents. At least their progress is something to keep me interested for the rest of this season.

Nice to see some of the lads find their level.

Some still searching.

Garnacho and Mainoo can join Martinez as the 3 biggest building blocks for the next manager.

Should've been 8 but I shouldn't complain an easy win into the next round.

Honestly quite concerning to come away from that with a goal from a fullback and a dodgy penalty. A wasted opportunity for the forwards to get a bit of confidence. It doesn't bode well for the upcoming league fixtures. We are not a lot of fun to watch these days.

Positives were Garnacho and Mainoo.

Apart from poor finishing 1st half it was a routine and comfortable win in what was potentially a banana skin cup tie. Mainoo and Garnacho the best for United tonight IMO.

Bring on Newport or Eastleigh

Comfortable, yes. However, considering we were problaly in our best offensive line-up and had such a hard time scoring is truly worrying. Defense looked fine, but I honestly cannot see us taking anything from Spurs on Sunday. It's so uncoordinated and without creativity up front.

Our attack cannot score from the game even against Wigan. That's the summary of this game.

What is the point of Scott McTominay?
Maybe he is Erik's illegitimate son. There is some strong love and bias there for sure

Was that the definition of "going through the motions" against lower league opposition?

Woeful finishing from everyone (again) but that is not going to change anytime soon.

Apart from that it was a very easy night...bring on Spurs this weekend now!
