Premier League Gameweek 12

That rest against Madrid has really helped their players.

0 points since then.

And lets be honest,Rodgers does not deserve anything better when you drop 70% of first team on the bench against Real Madrid.Throwing a towel in 4th game,in this way or another CL will hit you back.0 pts after that night makes him look clueless now,who knows maybe he really is.

Their worst start to a season since 1992-93, Brendan is a legend!

It would be utter lunacy.

1. He deserves time after last season.
2. Who do we get in at this point that's better?

If we're going to sack him, then it has to be done after the season. Any worse than 6th and I wouldn't be sorry to see him go, but unless we're lingering in the bottom half I won't actively be calling for his head for this season and one more.
Agree with you. But I think in some games, he should have rested Sterling and Gerrard more, and should've switched more between Balotelli and the other striking options.
You've been a bit unlucky. Today you looked the better team, but after the substitutions they lost it.

@to all Skrtel-Haters: He is a quality defender. A real prick that is needed in every proper defense. He is always fighting, has a great attitude, an undervaluated player.

Probably when they are mathematically out of qualifying for CL, just like moyes
They'd be stupid to get rid of him for not qualifying for the Champions League.
Did Zaha play? Where is he? Don't think I've heard his name since his debut where he got a goal (?).
On the bench for the whole game. It'll probably stay like that too as Bolasie and Puncheon are better than him.

No,skrtel is just shite.

Liverpool must take consolation from the fact that they came up against a better and very well organized team. They weren't completely bad I thought, Palace were just very good.

The over use of Sterling, who is only 19 and has years ahead of him, is astounding. He should not be playing every minute of every game right now in such a physical league. Not even Ronaldo played that much at this age. Its gonna burn him out and could even lead to injuries with the over reliance on him.

Liverpool seem to be experts in overplaying players at young ages which lead to injuries and their careers being cut short - Owen, Torres...

Sterling desperately needs a rest for a few weeks at least.

How the hell they can go so bad after last season will be a mystery. Much like last season of ours.

Liverpool have lost 6 in 12 Premier League games this season.

They have a 50% loss record in the league so far.

They only lost 6 games in 38 last season.

The difference between Aston Villa and Liverpool this season is only 1 win, with Villa having a game in hand to be played tomorrow.

They're also closer to 0 points than they are to the leaders.

Yeah, I'd give Sterling a month off and have him geared towards being ready for when Sturridge returns. Being dropped last season did him the world of good.

All the ones wanting Rafa back, Napoli were 2-0 up against Cagliari. Then back to 2-2, now 3-3. Not sure he will get their defending any better.

Hmm. Edging towards wanting Rodgers out...

Really? I think that'd be premature. It's been a largely impressive 2 and 1/3 seasons on the whole. Tons of new signings and of course the loss of two superstars effectively so far this year. You're still only 5 points outside the top 4 which this season means absolutely nothing given how shit everyone save City and Chelsea are. I'd be waiting till the end of the season at least.

This sort of thing happens quite a lot though doesn't it. A manager massively overachieves, and then the next season things tail off.

But then chairman/fans etc see that elevated level as the "Norm" so see it as an underachievement...

pressure will grow unless they turn it back round

they were always struggling for top 4 with Suarez gone. But with Sturridge out and Sterling much less effective so far it really is a losing battle.

Rodgers is desperate though.

I don't disagree. Don't think Rodgers should go yet but he needs to start doing better ASAP. He keeps making the same mistakes game after game and doesn't seem to have a clue how to turn this around. Too premature to do anything yet though.

Liverpool lose against midtable team after United have beaten a top team?? Just as it used to be, great times are almost back again. The only difference is that we used to be in the title race back then and are now in the top 4 race, but no worries, we'll be back in the title race soon enough.

Also after Rodgers was hailed the messiah last season it's great to see him back where he belongs. Plus now the British managers' hyping machine will be running much slower compared to last season which in turn will also be good for LvG and our future manager policy of hiring based on talent and acchievements instead of nationality.
