Premier League Sept 28-30

Spurs are looking really good. Maybe we should start to listen to what Glasten says after all.

Back, was out watching the first half but had to come home to put son to bed

Hazard looked much better today so far, but we have been very laboured and uncreative.

This is going to be a long season because we so badly need a good fecking striker!

Is one of our strikers ever going to score in the league this season?

Also Mata's expression when the camera zoomed in on him and Mourinho was unbelievable. I really hope the English Media runs riot with that picture.

Your centre midfield is worse than ours IMO!

Every one of the top 5 teams have weaknesses in their squads. Also Chelsea arent great at CB.

City probably have the best 11 but their back up CB are a weakness.

Good stuff so far. Loving the squad, the depth is so much more than last season. then, when Sandro got injured, our cm basically fell apart as we had to field Dembele and Parker or when both of them got injured, Parker and Huddlestone/ Livermore. Now we've got Capoue, Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele, any combination of which I'd be comfortable seeing against any team.

A lot of options, both defensive and offensive from the bench as well, with Rose, Kaboul, Capoue, Lennon and Adebayor I guess still to come back.

Chelsea don't look great, hilarious to see Willian not even in the squad. Still a long way to go though and they've got a lot of talent and ability to come back. We've got to keep very alert.

Also, both of our yellows were fully justified but does Dean have an aversion to booking Chelsea players? How is Ramires not booked yet?

As for whether we're title challengers or not, I think we still need to bed in a lot of players and that takes time. I'd be happy with top 4 and ecstatic with top 3. But al;l of our competitors for 'top 4' at the beginning of the season aim to win the league. If we're aiming to overtake even one of them, why should we not have the same aim, even if the chances of it happening are almost minimal? When you aim lower, the chances of besting someone who is aiming higher isn't particularly good.

Also......what is this new young team Mourinho is building? And this new style of play? I'm still seeing the same old faces playing the same cynical, petty football especially when they go down.

No Mata and Willian isn't even on the bench. Torres is trying to pull their defence out of position but no-one is syncing with him to make runs behind the defence.

Chelsea looking very average.

Bring Rafa back. :)

The squad they have doesnt have the feel of a Jose one. Like the past Chelsea one or the Inter one.

I think we ballsed up the transfer window just as badly as United did, except ours seems to have gone under the radar because it wasn't Moyes!

No striker, which is worse than United not getting a top midfielder

Willian way overpriced not even making the bench.

Couple of decent squad players.

Mata for Mikel, could be a great sub from Mourinho, not afraid to change his mind and be proved wrong.

I actually hope Mata turns it for Chelski, I like him a lot.

 Negative Mourinho

All that money on quality AM's and he plays Ramires on the right

He's already been proved wrong through the start of the season, Chelsea have looked poor and he hasn't been playing their best player. So far he's been stubborn with this and hasn't changed his mind at all.

What possible benefit does Mikel bring that makes them unable to start with the current line-up (Ramires dropping back next to Lampard and Mata to the right)?

Think you needed a top class CB.

I'd love for Mata to make a defensive feck up that costs them a goal now, would be hilarious to see Mourinhos reaction.

What possible benefit does Mikel possess that makes them unable to start with the current line-up (Ramires dropping back next to Lampard and Mata ahead of them)?

Mourinho lined up his team to play for a draw, just like at Old Trafford.

"Bale, Van Persie and Mata, the three best players last season." - Michael Owen.

You can almost hear the Liverpool fans grinding their teeth.

Ramires and Lampard isn't a ideal partnership IMO, but Mikel is utter shit so I see your point.

But he's put him on at half time in a massive game, and therefore is showing he is not afraid to be proved wrong or at least accept that he's been wrong....

he could as easily kept him off and ground out a win/draw or even loss, but not risked his reputation by going back on his comments regarding mata/oscar - which would have been really poor management.

I don't really get what you mean. Okay he never should have dropped him, but having done so and been vocal about why it is still better to be flexible and admit being wrong than be rigid to your teams detriment.

He's a negative manager, didn't even work because Sigurdsson scored which is what Ramires should be preventing
