Realistically 2-2 would be a great score.

As long as it doesn't go the same way as England's World Cup, being tipped to win it then drawing the hardest team (Brazil) in the quarters and stuffing it.
I can't see that happening tomorrow...I think we will at least get 1 point.

I think we're going to see a very composed and influential David Beckham tonight. The Real players have been winding him up recently, and I think he'll be fired up to win a battle against Bobby Carlos. He has to impose himself and prove he can be the best player among so many great ones.

Who predicted England to win the world cup? Certainly not anyone with any sense....

Quote of the day from the scouser who gets paid 50,000 a week to sell programmes on matchday:

"Ruud van Nistelrooy, Juan Sebastian Veron and Rio Ferdinand are fantastic players but I would never swap those three with Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo.”"

Too right you wouldnt seeing as Rio's a defender. Muppet.

The difference this time around is that they are favs to go through..

Both teams have improved.

I hope we keep our heads unlike our last meeting..

we'll be ok.. a 1-1 will be a good result.

I just hope the Real players keep talking - if there's one thing people should know about the players at this club it's that if you slag em off you can expect a beating.

Hopefully we can see another goal from Beckham similar from 2000, when he took Roberto Carlos

THERE ARE NO EASY GAMES IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

... for us and Real both.

I hope we play this:

-------------------- Barthez ---------------------

--- GNev -------- Rio ------ Wes ------ O'Shea ---

--------------------- Butt -----------------------

--- Beckham ---- Keane --- Scholes ----- Giggs ---

---------------------- RVN -----------------------

Wish we had Verón, I feel his absence could be our downfall.

Maybe SAF will give us a shock though and play 4-4-2. Because one thing is sure, 4-5-1 is what Real Madrid are expecting.

My prediction: 2-2

15' Ronaldo
34' Ruud
56' Giggs
76' Raul

Last 14 minutes of ding-dong stuff where both sets of supporters will be biting their nails and it could very easily swing either way.

They have not lost at home this season BTW. Come close to it mind.

They only play with 5 players?

I'd like to see:

----------------Ronaldo--------

------------Raul---------------

---Zidane------------------Figo

------Makelele--Helguera-------

Carlos-------------------------

-------Hierro----Pavon--Salgado

----------Casillas-------------

2-1 to the boys from Spain.

Neither had Juve, though, right?

Real Madrid. A fantasy team. A fantasy club. The club that gets what it wants - practically all the time. Are they really a club for Manchester United to aspire to? Are United better than Madrid already - if not in footballing and trophy terms then in terms of doing things the right way, on a level playing field?...

I must say this is a brilliant article by Mark - it had me shitting a brick half way through but by the end I was totally psyched!!! COME ON!!!! :D

Yep, he shines in this kinds of games.

Juve away anyone?

Maybe we can do better than Rayo ;)

I was 100% sure that we would beat Juve. I'm not 100% with this. More like 65%.

Valencai twatted them in January, with Zidane clearly being below-par. ;)

Hey, Zidane left Juve to be "close to the sea" ;)

Agree to a certain extent. Seba would have enjoyed playing on this stage, but we can stop their creative outlets if Butt and Keane sit slightly deeper and if Seba is fit for the return leg he can shine. :)

It's gonna be a tough match, the toughest we could have but they won't be looking forward to facing us either. I think that we have to show them a certain amount of respect, but we must not build them up too highly either. Madrid's defense is vunerable, and United are in great form right now. If we can get an early goal then things could really go our way.

I watched the Madrid game on Saturday, and for most of the match they didn't look all that at all. They say that the mark of a great team is being able to step up a gear when required, and they certainly did that. One thing is for certain, and that is one goal will never be enough against them!

Good luck Man Utd!

Be careful! ;)

Just been reading through the interviews on the Sky web site. Christ am I buzzing for this game!

One thing above all else is standing out for me. How fookin great it is to have Roy Keane back and raring to go. His interview talks about relishing facing Zidane. Go get him Keano.

Latest from Sir Talkalot "I don't know where the story we are friends came from - my father is my friend. The game is a chance for me to mark a great player, I may have got the better of him in our previous meetings, but that's the past and I think about the future. Beckham is a great player, I respect and admire him; he is one of the best free-kick takers in the world and I am very happy things are working out for him as England captain, but he is not my friend.''

Miaow indeed.

After all the talk of payback and revenge, Roy hasnt said a lot about Real recently. He's just concentrating on giving Zidane the toughest 90 minutes of his career.

nah, that happened last time keano and zidane were on the same pitch

tough match for elfie today ... will she smile or cry if zidane scores against the bartman 2night?

shame that little scouse twat won't get a game. Would love to see a crunching Nicky Butt speacial pay him back for all the pre-match commentary.

Here's hoping thet the boy Roy rises to the occasion and proves that there is plenty left in him still, if he is relegated to a holding role we are fcuked, especially without Veron...
