Gaming Red Dead Redemption 2 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Stadia)

RDR hurt my eyes. I loved it. But it hurt my eyes.

The draw distance was just not long enough, it was too blurry, and there were too many artifacts. As such, a PS4 version would be amazing!

Also, is this not RDR3 :)

Well it's not called Red Dead Revolution... sooo ;)

But yeah, easily in my top 10 video games of all time.... probably top 5

I so hope this is true. Since the day I have replaced my last gen xbox with one, I have been regretting it just because of this game.

Cant you play it again now? Or does it not work for discs?

I loved it. Please be true.

Someone should do a remake of "Outlaws".

Hope this turns out to be true; RDR's atmosphere is up there with the very best I've experienced in a game. When you feel that avoiding fast-travel is worth it to drink in your surroundings, backed with that amazing score, it's a sign of how well they nailed it.

I'm still hoping, probably in vain, that they enable RDR to be played on PS4 in some form. Had a PC for the last generation so never got to play it :(

Can't wait. I have a really strong emotional attachment to Red Dead Redemption, whenever I was down or going through a bad patch I'd just fire it up, ride through the open world in free roam doing absolutely anything that I come across.

I sure hope its a prologue to Marshton's time with Dutch in the gang.

I thought they'd fitted in every Western cliché in the first game. I'll be curious to see what else they have up their sleeves this time. Redemption was an exceptional game.

Somethings I would like them to improve on RDR

1. Draw distance/resolution/artifacts. They hurt my eyes. But I'm sure this will be improved.

2. Too many small towns. I'd rather have lots of small towns like RDR than one big city like in GTA V, but it would be nice if they were a little bigger. The map was huge, but a lot of the towns were a bit too small for me. A few were a decent size.

3. More going in the world as the story progresses. It'd be quite nice if, when you wiped out a murdering horde of bandits, things would change. The townspeople might go out further, other murdering hordes might move in... Just something to make the world seem a bit alive, and not just randomly generated individual incidents happening all the time.

4. More interesting guns?

5. More story lines going on at the same time?

Red Dead Redemption was amazing. One of Rockstar's best games in my opinion alongside San Andreas and GTA 6

This would be great. I did get bored before I finished the original so never finished it. But I got back into it when the zombies came on the scene and finished it then.
This would be simply super.

Wish I really gave RDR a proper go of it. I started, did a few missions, the one day I thought I'd kill a few hours by just hunting animals to sell their furs/meat. After about 4/5 hours of doing this without saving I got killed by a complete rando. I rage quit and never went back to it, despite meaning to at some point.

Doubt it will be at E3.

Rockstar don't care for E3. They'd announce it themselves.

Your second point is a difficult one. I agree that there should have been bigger towns but would that have fit in with the genre? The Wild West is supposed to be remote and mostly untouched by humans. There's a fine line between making the world feel more alive and making it feel too alive.

I think some of the bigger towns were meant to be places like Washington anyway? Not sure.

Class game.I think western games can be the next big thing after theserobotic/alien shoot em ups

Red Dead Redemption is a game that could benefit from Shadow Of Mordor's Nemesis system.

Rumours are, the game is a prequel, not to James Marstons story but set about 30-40 years before the events in RED Redemption when Blackwater is more of a frontier town. Also the person you will play is Landon Ricketts.

Hmm, that would mean less motorcars I guess. More native Americans?

The Revenant was set in 1823, whilst Red Dead Redemption was set (loosely) in 1911

This will be the only game I can see myself buying for a long time.

One of my all time favourite games, can't wait for another! I still visit Red Dead now and again having completed just about everything and it's just as raw and new each time.

yeah stop bumping without news you wankshafts!

Here are some pictures to make it seem like it was worth it.

Leaked map.

If you want news: it apparently won't be making an appearance at E3 anymore but hopefully this is just a rumour. :(

 How the feck did the leaked map not make it into this thread??

I put it in the PS4 thread a couple weeks ago, I couldn't face the failure of starting a RDR 2 thread for it to have no views and replies only for it to be replaced by an infinitely more successful thread closer to launch.

The map is pretty disappointing. It doesn't look that much bigger.

A bigger map would have been welcome if that is the actual map, I'd also like to see more career related quests, they never really made the most of being able to skin animals and hearding cattle.

I think its dependent on the amount of detail - I would take a smaller, much more detailed map, over a larger, more empty map (I appreciate that a lot of the atmosphere comes from the open plains etc).
