After a blinding first few games, he had a slight dip in form for Madrid. Inevitably, this saw the anti-latin/ stepover brigade on here to conclude that he was shit, and of course, miles behind Rooney. However, he appears to be finding his feet again and is in dazzling form at the moment, definetly the best young player on current form i'd say.

Which is good news if you hate Arsenal :)

He is shit, miles behind Rooney.

Rooney and Messi are leagues ahead of him. And they're both younger.

He's better working down the flanks. He's not exactly setting La Liga alight but...... I remember when Ronaldinho came on to the scene a couple of years ago...and he didn't exactly look like he'll become the world beater that he is today.

Correct.

He is more in Ronaldo's league.

I've never really seen him

But his name ends in "-inho", so I conclude that he's a diving poof

He is a bit.

Have you seen Messi?

Only once, while trying to get served in a pub for about half an hour

He was rubbish, kept giving the ball away

He is quality, and not in one of those Van Der Vaart flavour of the month type ways. He is going to be some player, tough little fecker as well.

Tevez is decent from what i've seen, Messi is different class

Yes, it's a shame that people on here are starting to bang on about him, it doesn't do him any favours. He should play a big part in the Argentina team in the world cup, at 18, he's good.

Messi reminds me more of a young Ryan Giggs- leftie without unncessary fancy tricks, running hard at the defenders dribbling the ball in motion, using deft little touches to accelerate. Both Rooney and Messi are more of a forwards breaking forward, attacking, creating and scoring goals. But Robinho has more flair and he can develop himself in to a quintessential playmaker like Kaka. He hasn't done anything exceptional at Real after moving over from Brazil.

Rooney
messi
Ronaldo
Tevez - robinho

I'd say robinhos about the same as tevez. Still much to prove domestically.
Ronaldo, if he can find consistancy then would be like messi who impresses me.
Rooney though has to be tops. Did it at euro 2004, has done great for us but can improve certainly in europe.

Robinho is better han all of them bar Rooney i'd say. It isn't always as simple as saying that nobody can come close to Rooney until they score 4 goals at a European championships, especially when they aren't even European!

I mean, Robinho or Tevez scoring goals in a Copa America or Confederations Cup gets belittled in importance to Rooney scoring goals against Switzerland and Croatia. It is their equivalent.

I'd say of all the youngsters around, Robinho is definetly in Rooney's category. It doesn't even matter if 'i put it on Sky Sports for 5 minutes and he looked crap', i can say the same about Rooney on several occasions. Rooney and Robinho are amazing, and Messi and Ronaldo are there or therabouts too.

robinhos not done it for real madrid yet. He went there at 21, so this is his first season and lets be honest he maybe in form now but for a long period he wasn't good. Look at messi 18, expected to go to the world cup with argentina. Tevez is a funny players, is he still playing in brazil? Was a bad move for him. Rooneys been playing in the prem for a few years now and even has a defensive game. I reckon messi is better then robinho, from what i've seen esp this season. Messi for the most part get's more involved. Robinho is alittle short at the minute, BUT it is harder for him playing for a shite madrid team then messi who's playing in a quality barca outfit
