I would say that they both have potential to become world class players, but Messi was lucky to be signed by Barcelona in a beggining stage of his career. Adjusting to Spanish league is certainly easier for a player who lives there since he was 15 or 16 than for Brazilian who had never played at that level before. That's why I think that Tevez has been wasting his talent by hanging around in South American clubs instead of joining top European force (he had offers from Bayern, PSV and probably plenty other clubs).
To be honest I'm not impressed with Robinho, predicted to be something special, he hasn't been so outstanding so far. But on the other hand I've seen him only eight up to ten time this season so I can hardly judge him.
