America is about to get royally fecked even more with all the protest that’s happening in the next coming weeks. More at 11.
Is that because the millions of unemployment cheques that were claimed at the start of the pandemic will stop by the end of June? - I can't see Trump putting in place any other support - indeed he is clearly fanning the flames with his extreme right wing backers.America is about to get royally fecked even more with all the protest that’s happening in the next coming weeks. I've had to go into town this morning and collect my prescription and judging by the queues outside shops I think I can safety say the threat from Covid 19 is over.
100 yard queue for sports direct ffs.

Exactly. Just reading about it on BBC News.
"Yes I know we're in the middle of a global pandemic but now lockdown has eased I simply must wake up at the crack of dawn at the earliest opportunity on a Monday morning and queue up with hundreds of people for the sales at Primark."
People want to treat themselves to large queues
Some are so far gone only living to merely exist is now acceptable. There’s been a lot of “queue shaming” in Ireland over the last couple of weeks. I don’t have a problem with it. It’s been a rough couple of months for everyone and every step towards normality gives a bit of a boost. For a lot of people “normality” involves hitting the shops, so I’m not going to judge them for doing that. So long as they take all the necessary steps re social distancing etc. If not, feck those guys.
I don't have a problem with people going to the shops, but if those Primark pictures are correct, they certainly aren't social distancing. They will probably say they are outside, but shopping centres are pretty enclosed when crowded. You hope they follow the guides when they actually get inside. There’s been a lot of “queue shaming” in Ireland over the last couple of weeks. I don’t have a problem with it. I have a friend that works in a high street fashion chain, and he's been back in work preparing for this over the last few weeks. He said the number of people who have been knocking on the doors, asking why they were closed has been upsettingly large. Individuals, groups and families all wandering around Market Street wondering where everyone is and why the shops are shut. There are some dangerously stupid people out there.Exactly. Just reading about it on BBC News.

Most shops they probably can, but Primark is always like a rugby scrum, reminds me of first day of Harrods sale, not that I have ever been there.Even in my small town, Primark is always extremely crowded; so I've no idea how they're going to implement social distancing & the like.
Also a problem is that how many of the folks going out to grab clothes have put weight on, so the size they bought a few months back will not fit them now. Primark are not the most generous of fits. That is one of the reasons they are cheap amongst a lot of other reasons. How do you shop in Primark safely?
When you are looking for new clothes you sometimes look through the rack to find your size/a style that you like so you're constantly touching the clothes. You also have the option of trying clothes on and I've definitely tried clothes on before and put them back so I imagine people will do that too.
I'm assuming that you're a) Not allowed to try on clothes and put them back/if you do someone needs to do something with the clothes you've tried on. and b) They have been told to be very strict with how they set out the stores.
I get that but when you figure in this new 1 metre rule alongside the big queues it's kinda asking for trouble. There’s been a lot of “queue shaming” in Ireland over the last couple of weeks. Just listening to the radio news and the women said that one of the rules is not picking up what you don't intend to buy. Good luck with telling that to someone in a clothes shop. Of course you have to look at the clothes before you buy.I get that but when you figure in this new 1 metre rule alongside the big queues it's kinda asking for trouble.

Who the hell shops at Primark?
Where is our swedish expert? Havent seen him post in ages?Might be increased testing? That's an area in which they have lagged over the last few months but maybe they're now catching up?

I know. The top end of Dalton Road was packed this morning.Just listening to the radio news and the women said that one of the rules is not picking up what you don't intend to buy. Good luck with telling that to someone in a clothes shop. Of course you have to look at the clothes before you buy.
It’s still 2m for the foreseeable future. Government doing some research into reducing it apparently after the WHO study.
Don’t see the issue with standing in a queue other than it’s monumentally boring and could easily be done online.
Ah right, I stand corrected over the 1 metre thing then. It’s still 2m for the foreseeable future. Government doing some research into reducing it apparently after the WHO study.

Primark doesn't do online orders.
The path the UK has taken we aren't eradicating the thing so people shopping whilst it's low doesn't really matter much. Lockdown is virtually over in most places and has been for weeks because people are cnuts, sorry we're supposed to call it fatigue aren't we so they can pretend it's not a character flaw.
The bigger issue is whether they'll impose restrictions as and when we do get the next exponential spike. I think they'll cock it up and won't do so until it's too late again.
If we had the infrastructure regional lockdowns as targeted as possible should be the next step.
I wouldn't trust any picture of people "flouting the rules" unless they're taken by drone. Even amateur photographers can manipulate horizontal pictures in any which way they see fit.I don't have a problem with people going to the shops, but if those Primark pictures are correct, they certainly aren't social distancing.
