Good line-up, pointless game really, bad season overall glad it's over and we will be back stronger. Only 1 question to ask now...

WHERE'S LOUIS???

I'm going for a 2-1 win. Welbeck and RVP to score.

I wouldn't be that surprised if we go like this:

Januzaj, Fletcher, Kagawa, Mata
RVP, Welbeck

"number 10's"

The thing that defines a "10" is passing, now what should be the main attribute of a central midfielder?

Kagawa's passing isn't the problem, it's what happens when the opposition have the ball. At home against a Hull side already safe and thinking of an FA cup final is one thing, and even then he looked awkward but we're playing Southampton away. As much as Carrick gets slated on here and he has been poor this season, I still think we're better off playing him.

Giggs inherited Fergie's knack for overlooking CM, and then some! Very attacking line-up though so I'm not moaning. Let's hope we're on the front foot more often than not otherwise Fletch will be busy!

I doubt it would be a rigid 4-4-2 with these players. Someone has to play in the hole.

Not quite sure Kagawa has the engine to play cente midfield. Modric, on the other hand, use to be a very hard working attacking midfielder. Kagawa seems to trot around the pitch, at times.

As for our wingers, I can imagine Giggs will tell Januzaj and Welbeck to stay wide. With Kagawa and Mata in the middle, we don't want to make our play too narrow with our wingers always tucking in. We need to be looking to stretch Southampton's back four with our wingers trying to get in behind. I thought Januzaj looked a lot better in the second half against Hull when he stayed wide, where he could run at the full back. He gave Figeuroa a torrid time.

Excited to see how we do with this line-up. And it against a team in Southampton who will give us a good test.
Kagawa has the best engine in our team as proven by his ridiculous bleep test results.

Even when he was good Carrick was shite in games against teams like Southampton. Nice to see Giggs thinking about Kagawa as a player good enough on the ball to cope in the middle.

You never know and it doesn't necessarily mean it will be 'rigid'. In our game against Hull we all thought it it was Fellaini CM and Kagawa off the front man. I don't think it will be that today but I wouldn't be surprised.

What did he get?

And I just mean how he looks off the ball. Players like Modric, Cabaye, Gundogan, etc, all get stuck in and look dogged, at times, whereas, I have never really seen that from Shinji.

First I hear of this, who was reporting it?
Can't remember where I first heard it, but search 'Kagawa training CM' on Twitter and there were a few rumours back in Feb about it. I didn't get the rumour off Twitter, honestly can't remember where I heard it from.

So Moyes viewed him as a CM? Odd that he never played them there and Giggs has already. We'll see how he does today.

With that starting line-up, there will be scored at least 5 goals in this game.

Giggs has said he wants his midfield to run past the ball. So Kagawa playing there shouldn't be too surprising as he can be very good further up if like minded players are with him. It only works though if we have a deep midfielder clearing up behind the attackers.

That's a brilliant line up.

Gutted Giggs isn't even on the bench. He may well have played his last ever game for us :(.

Could be the last appearance Ferdinand and Evra make for the club as well and it's definitely Vidic's last game in a United shirt. The 08 team is moving on.

Anyway, having seen the lineup, I have absolutely no idea what the score will be. I reckon there will be a lot of goals though.

Its quite an act of selflessness when you consider he has the ultimate power to play himself but instead gave his teammates the chance to play in the final fixture.
