Hope we'll score more than 1.

I saw Southampton pretty recently and apart from Surman they have very little going for them.

Having said that they are bound to raise their game for this one, and it will be tough.

It'll be interesting to see if we play a mixture of youth and experience, or go purely the experienced route.

Hopefully Fabio will be fit to play some part maybe at least coming off the bench. I think we are all curious as to whether he will hit the similar heights his brother has.

FORMER Saints boss Dave Merrington believes the club should start 2009 positively – by believing they can beat Manchester United.

Merrington has seen Saints win only one game all season at St Mary’s in his role as summariser for BBC Radio Solent.

That is the worst home record in the top three divisions, but Merrington still believes Saints can put it behind them by knocking the Premiership champions and Champions League winners out of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.

He said: “It’s a great game for the spectators. Saints will be playing the biggest club in the country and I’ve been in the game long enough to know that they can win if they approach it correctly.

“Who knows what could happen if they really believe they can beat Man Utd.

“If I was Jan Poortvliet I would be telling the players to go out and try and win the game.

“They shouldn’t look for a draw, they should go into the game with one thing in mind – to get into the fourth round.

“It’s up to the manager and his staff to instil that mental approach but if I was them I wouldn’t even consider going out for a draw.”

vds

neville vidic evans fabio

fletcher possebon anderson

nani tevez giggs

Or something similar.

Really want to see Welbeck getting a game. Wouldn't mind seeing Manucho either.

I think our first team stars like Rooney, Ronaldo and Vidic will play this game and probably rested for the carling cup game. Fergie won't rest them in both games and the carling cup game is too close to the league game.

I'm going to miss this game because I'm at work :(

Hopefully Manucho will play

You have a point there. Completely forgot about the League Cup semi.

isn't Evra available?
I think Park should be there too, just not sure where, maybe instead of Giggs.

No he's not.

Fabio on the bench hopefully

------Foster
-Neville--Evans--Vidic--O'shea
-Nani--Fletcher--Scholes--Giggs
------Welbeck
------------------Tevez

I'd just like to point out that I would not be at all upset if we lost this.

Just for my bank balance alone.

What if we got Liverpool at home in the next round? Wouldn't you like to see that?

Kuszczak played the last time Van the Man was rested so I think Foster will play in this one.

Foster

Neville
Evans
Vidic
O´shea

Nani
Scholes
Carrick
Park

Tevez
Welbeck

Something like that. and hopefully some minutes for Fabio and Manucho.

I think Berbatov will start this one with Tevez.

Berbatov hasn't played very much over the last 2-3 weeks and it will certainly give him an opportunity to get his goals tally into double figures.

Is this seriously on Setanta FFS?
