Swansea City vs. Manchester United

Could be a doubt over this game apparently. The rain needs to stop

Is this day and age it's simply unacceptable for a top flight football team to have to call a game off because of a waterlogged pitch.

Thats not really fair is it, the amount of rain we are getting is silly, its not just the pitch you have to worry about, what about the surrounding area, if that is flooded and dangerous to travail in what else can be done.

I have no doubt that the pitch will be perfectly playable, but if the crowd cant get there safely, the Police will call it off.

I'd actually prefer it if the game would be postponed (not necessarily to another day, but if it would give me an extra hour or two I'd be grateful as then I could catch the entire game.)

As per my post, I was only referring to a waterlogged pitch.

It was originally on today, but was moved to tomorrow. Nothing worse than building yourself up for a United game, only to find out it's on the next day..

At least that means I wasn't totally crazy. Will just watch City drop points instead hopefully.

I'm really looking forward to this, including the return of Kagawa who will most likely feature from the bench and possibly Vidic from the start. I just hope Fergie doesn't go too rotational with his eye on the next three games in quick succession after this one. His away lineups this season seem to be slightly stronger than the home ones anyhow.

So if this game is going to be played it will look like Real - Levante (?) a good month ago?

Originally 3pm yesterday like all games this weekend, it was never a 1.30ko yesterday so I'm afraid he has gone mental

Really hope Vidic and Kagawa start. Think SAF should also start Hernandez on this rain sodden pitch as his pace will be extra important.

Id go with

dG
Rafael Rio Vidic Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Young Kagawa Rooney
Hernandez

Kagawa won't be there. He was supposed to have started training last Monday but Fergie said on Friday he is starting this Monday coming. He better be.

I think Rafael is still out too.

Didn't SAF say in his presser that Kagawa is going to start training on Monday coming? (I know he's said the same thing for 2 or 3 weeks now)..

I think we are going to see a whole lot of rotation over these next 4 games in particular so it's best to be prepared. We seem to do well in December (fingers crossed that continues!) so I'm sure SAF will know how best to tweak his teams.

This Swansea game is arguably the toughest of the 4 (?) so I'd like to see the strongest XI possible.

De Gea
Jones Smalling Rio Evra
Valencia Carrick Cleverley Young
Rooney
van Persie

Is what I'm hoping for. Toughest game of these next four. Rotate a bit for the two home games.

I second this.
I think Evans might be back though

Have a feeling we will lose today!
Going to be tough game if Swansea play well.

So what's the weather like? Still raining heavily? Hope the game won't be postponed

Would we not have heard some kind of official 'keep your eyes peeled' by now if there was a chance of that? After all it's been raining long enough, it can't have caught them by surprise.

Not even seen any rumours, I think its just Caf paranoia.

Yeah, but if we play close to our best, we will smash about four past them. Remember, there is still RVP and Rooney upfront

I'm a bit worried too, but only because of the busy christmas period coming up. Let's hope we're starting our best XI available today, this is by far the toughest game of the next four. We're playing Newcastle and West Brom at the right time as it seems.

If there was a chance of it being postponed, the clubs would have made announcements in the morning to fans travelling to the game about a chance of it being called off, but they have not done so it will most likely take place unless the weather gets much worse from now till kick off.

Imagine United fans getting ready to go to the game and once they reach the ground, they hear the game has been called off. They would be fuming at the clubs lack of announcements before the game.

It's just.... RVP
