I think the 2nd one was the better one.
I'm not interested in a debate about which was the superior game but I'm certainly happy the second game exists. It's an essential addition to what I consider one big, ongoing story, instead of two separate stories, and I wouldn't have wanted to miss it.
Despite the fact I wasn't overly keen on this on my first playthrough (I didn't even complete the entire Ellie part) I've been having the urge to go back to it.
My issues came from a gameplay perspective and it all felt very one note and repetitive. However I recently saw some footage from the Abby section, and while I know the gameplay doesn't change in the second half it certainly looked different enough to reignite my interest.
I just really can't be arsed replaying the first half again and brutally stab dogs to death.

I'm worried about all the agenda pushers now coming out of the porn mag filled bushes because the "last bastion of free speech", TheLastOfUs2 subreddit, has been hilariously cancelled due to their snivelling anti-everything agenda pushing becoming public knowledge.
Think its cos they are harassing a gaming YouTube channel because they *gasp* enjoyed TLOU2.
I literally just watched the Girlfriend review who were the centre of the whole Reddit thing just mins ago. The lengths some people go who don’t even know or have zero effect on there lives, just try to feck up someone’s Else’s. Disgraceful.

About 15 hours into this and loving it, finding it riveting.
My problem so far with this is those long stretches of gameplay where very little happens. In the first one it was fine because of the chemistry between J&E but the characters they've replaced that combination with are just so dull.

Especially over on that subreddit where they're doing their best to make it appear that, for the last 12 months, it wasn't filled with putrid transphobic shite or people fantasising about tying up and assaulting Druckmann's wife and daughter just to teach him an apparent lesson.
The best bit is how the mods there are trying to act like they're all victims in this backlash, and how doxxing now means to post someone's publicly available username.
Thats not true, not even close to being true. I was a member of that sub in the past couple of months, it was memes, people moaning about the game and how people just called them homophobes, racists and transphobes while disregarding any reasons they actually gave for not liking the game.
It's pretty well documented though.
The place is a shithole. For every meme there was always a big handful of folk calling Abby a "thing" or generally just being utter cnuts to people who dared to like the game.
"May 7th 2020" Those were posted everywhere, in every sub. Why does one sub carry the weight over a year later?

Actually, that sub was very welcoming of people who liked the game. In most part because r/thelastofus was banning anyone who said they didnt like it, no matter how polity they said it.
Im gonna cut to end of this conversation, you arent going to win this argument because youre right. Youre going to win because you have the numbers. The last of us part 2 became some battleground for woke vs bigots. Anyone who doesnt like the game, no matter their reasons, is automattically a bigot because thats what the loudest say. Most people who dont like the game, have moved on. The numbers dwindle every day. Theres only so many times you can give the same reasons why you dont like the game before it becomes boring. But people that like it, seem to have made part of their personality. And any challenge is met with utter contempt. Even in this every thread someone listed their reasons for not liking the game and someone instantly moved to discredit and diminish their opinion. That sub was for those people. People who loved the first game, and hate the second. Not because ellie was gay, because if that was true they would have liked the first game or its dlc. Somewhere they could actually voice their opinion without being called names and being banned. If you were an asshole you got downvoted. Thats the same for reddit everywhere. So again, why is this sub singled out?
I hate this game. Not because I hate women, or trans people, or anything else. I dont like the characters and I dont like the story. Thats it. The amount of abuse Ive gotten for saying just that and nothing else is repugnant. The truth is that both sides of this argument have their assholes. Just like every other shitty internet war there has ever been. That sub is not what people say it is. But it sure has caught on that thats what it is because no one ever goes to it. They just post things from over a year ago by the real bigots and assholes that flooded every sub with the same trash. And not for nothing, but theres actually 2 subs one of which used to get the same nonsense but turned private over a year ago. Thats when the focus shifted to this sub.

I find the whole concept of a subreddit for people who like a first game but dislike the second, bizarre. How long can you keep going on about your passionate dislike of a game? Surely at some point you're just talked out? It certainly doesn't give the impression of people having moved on.
Not everyone should ever be tarred with the same brush, especially around some of the vile stuff said about this game.
Though sadly this game had a huge backlash, one of the biggest ever, among bigots and hate mongers who read the early leaks and believed them and that spilled out. Even a little bit on here. There's no denying it though, which is the only thing I'll disagree with you on, all those sub reddits had terrible comments. Some were just slightly better moderated than others.

If the sub was this sanctuary of like minded individuals why did the mods make the sub private multiple times over the weekend as they cleaned it up?
While I'm sure there were plenty of reasonable people on there, a huge percentage were bordering on incel levels of hatred.
I fall in your category of someone who was luke warm at best towards this game (probably more on the dislike side) but the sheer hatred I've witnessed in that sub is sickening at times.
A subreddit like r/freefolk is an example of a sub that is geared towards disliking a product, but not overstepping the mark and going into discriminatory, hate filled bile.

No, Im passionate about a game I did like. The first game. I was really looking forward to the 2nd game and it was a massive let down. And like most people I wanted to talk through my disappoint. But I guess that makes me a weirdo or something right? Looking forward to something for 7 years I should just be able to shrug it off or something.
That was a fun therapy subreddit in the aftermath of season 8. I think they raised a ridiculous amount of money for an Emilia Clarke charity too.

There is evidence of them cleaning the sub and removing a huge percentage of the vile posts. Then when it went public again the top posts were positive threads about the game with comments disabled.
The mods on that sub actively allowed a culture of bigotry to fester and only acted when they got caught out and shamed.

What Im saying is that it hasnt been since Ive been looking at it for the past few months. But if people are going to say they are so outraged by things in this sub that happened over a year ago, I have to question their motives. Not the least of which is because I was a member. And Im being called all these horrible things that I am not and never have been. You said you've been reading that particular one for a couple of months, but doesn't all the hatred go back way further than that on reddit? I mean this was going on for at least a year before the game was even released, in fact it dates back to the first and it's DLC. This isn't something that has just sprung up.

The mods have been shown to be complicit and liars. There's a very good chance the original death threats were actually a mod in the first place.

I've said I'm not a massive fan of the game on multiple places, including Reddit and YT. I don't feel tarred with the bigotted brush, though I will say there are definitely people who do use that as a defence of their "OMG BESTEST GAME EVA!!!".
Still, as said, I can't see why I'd personally feel offended by them. Nor why I would care about a sub reddit finally being cleaned up? Surely you'd want those horrible messages deleted and people banned. The issue here is more what it's taken for that to happen, as before the mods didn't give much of a shit.

Yes, i have personally been called these things. Go into r/thelastofus and say you dont like the game. And then wait. Not everyone in there is an asshole, but they are there.
