Trust me, I had massive reservations as well. How could a movie about the credit crunch possibly keep me entertained? But this was really good and yeah it has a stellar cast, with some excellent performances.

Before watching this I knew the bankers screwed us but now I know to what extent. I love the way they explain the deliberately over complicated schemes the banks were pulling off in a way anyone can understand and some great performances, particularly from Carrell and Bale, help to build the tension for the ending we all know.
My favourite moments from the film,
when Carrells character is on the phone deciding whether to sell and says "they knew, they just didn't care" very powerful
The text at the end that says the banks have made a new CDO under a different name in 2015. Wanted to throw something at the TV at that point.

If you like Moneyball you'd like this movie, it's in a similar style but I'd really recommend everyone watch it to see just how fecked up the banking crash was. And it's a great movie.

The DM referenced it in that outrage piece on Neon Demon and it caught my eye- they reckon it has only just got through the BBFC. The same bloke also directed this. He seems to have a style, as it were.
