Is it gonna be like The Jungle Book?

You'd assume so.

We can officially confirm that The Walt Disney Studios and director Jon Favreau are putting a new reimagining of The Lion King on the fast track to production. The project follows the technologically groundbreaking smash hit The Jungle Book, directed by Favreau, which debuted in April and has earned $965.8 million worldwide.

Don't think it's going to be as enjoyable as the first one by the looks of it.

Live Action Lion King just announced... Favreau to direct.

Was always coming. Aladdin next.

Guy Ritchie, the stylistic director behind the Robert Downey Jr.-starring Sherlock Holmesmovies, is in negotiations to helm Disney’s live-action adaptation of its 1992 animated classic Aladdin

John August wrote the script for the live-action version, which sources say will keep many of the musical elements of the original. Still to be determined is the approach to the Genie, which to this day remains closely associated with Williams' singular and defining performance.

Also part of the nontraditional aspect of the project is the studio's intent to make it nonlinear, a move right out of the Ritchie playbook. The helmer made his name directing snappy crime thrillers such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch that used that kind of storytelling. He last directed The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and is in postproduction on King Arthur, Warners’ upcoming take on the Camelot legend..

Say what now?

I liked and didn't like it at the same time. It's seems to be Gravity, Prometheus and some other Scifi/Horror themes thrown together. The person of colour seems to die first. The cast is great though and it looks visually great.

Life looks like a tombola of middling science fiction films. Is that the Japanese guy from Sunshine?

Daniel Espinosa is directing too, I'll definitely be avoiding that one.
