It was great.
I proper belly laughed when the doctor died right at the start on the plane. What a muppet.
It was great.
Three drunkards clowning around on primetime tele. Talk shows were better back then.
Edge Of Tomorrow is a solid action movie that doesn't bore with too much talk about irrelevant shit. The 178 million budget went into a good cast, realistic way of showing huge battles that doesn't look like a CGI cartoon plus a composition of scenes well put together and mixed into condensed fun.
That scientology brainwash really help Tom Cruise in getting into his sci-fi roles with convincing amount of passion. Immersive and pacey storyline that quickly reminds of classics like first Starship Troopers movie and Groundhog Day. Tom must feel like in his underground anti-alien invasion home-bunker during the shooting. Very comfy with his character and world on brink of destruction around him.
Emily Blunt's moments of absolute badassity is a standard motive during the watching. It's a strong female character that pushes pacing even further not to mention this magical colonial marines vibe from Aliens mainly thanks to Bill Paxton who almost steal the show through his 'Full Metal Jacket' attitude and pretty much everything what he does is helping in reaching the atmosphere of slaughter during the times of war.
Not too complicated but catchy story with elements of invasion and counter offensive with parts about time travel through some little bit of pseudo scientific crap that only Tom Cruise thinks it's reality... and he is resurrecting his career in a good way thanks to Oblivion and Edge Of Tomorrow.
Good stuff. Very likeable sci-fi that may remind some classics from the 80's in some part. This and Dredd proves that there's a plenty of space for solid adult brutal movies in vein of Paul Verhoeven's Robocop, Starship Troopers or even Aliens.
EDIT: If someday there will be a super production adaptation of Warhammer 40000 then they already have a perfect source of inspiration how to make Space Marines and their heavy gear. Words of highest praise for that.
World War Z
I'm never listening to you muppets ever again. Thought it was an excellent Zombie film, one of, it not the best zombie films. Considering I'm used to the terrible Walking Dead Series, this was light years ahead. Glad I finally got round to watching it. Brad Pitt was very good. 7/10.
Let me put it that way: He's not resurrecting as much as he's reinventing his action movie style by playing in the recent sci-fi productions which is definitely the right way to go. Another Mission Impossible chapter is a stagnation and the news about the imminent fifth one has to be joke.Er... I don't think his career ever wane enough for a resurrection of any sort. He's been solid since the days of Top Gun (at least box office wise)

He feels great in sci-fi, he likes this challenge and thanks to that he's becoming more than just another generic action actor. It definitely makes him even cooler than he was before though I really liked Minority Report from his past roles.
In a shorter way - Sci-fi makes him better and more and more he's becoming a leading figure in that genre.
No problemo. He still got time in shifting to another genre with his fame status and resources. He's also not getting older and still doing all his stunt scenes perfectly. He'll probably stick around with action sci-fi till he wakes up from the scientology notion. Never too late for that but I honestly enjoy his adventures to stop aliens from destroying earth. I really do.Sorry i got u wrong, i just think since his scientology stuff, he got personally more attracted into scifi personally, and since he can make his interest comes true, he made moee of them lately.
If i have the cash, i would made films that i find myself interesting myself

I've still got that Gainsbourg biopic on my computer.Gainsbourg was the best at this. He frequently appeared absolutely smashed on TV, once burned a 500F (about 100€) note on a show, told Whitney Houston he'd 'like to feck her' live, completely messed up a play-back cos he was lighting a cigarette, told a woman who was flirting with him 'I'm a bit like Mickey Mouse: I have big ears and a big tail', and so on. Good fun.
Is Lone Survivor any good? It looks like jingoistic nonsense, but I'm hoping it'll be an exciting war film.
King of New York - An excellent little cult gangster. Gritty, ambitious...sorely underrated, I think.

The only other film of his I've seen is The Addiction which I thought was nice but too impregnable for me due to it's heavy philosophical content.Yeah, Abel Ferrara is a criminally underrated director. I far prefer his New York schtick to that of Marty Scorsese's. Very funny dialogue and situations in his films as well, amongst all the grittiness. Has always seemed to me to be a sort of "guerilla" filmmaker.
I may end up regretting it, but it sounds OK, going to have to watch it.Enemy Man sees his doppleganger in a movie. He tries to find the actor and bizarre and nonsensical pretentious bollocks follows. Avoid at all costs as you will never get this hour and a half of your life back. And something about spiders. 0.5/10
