We obviously need our own club-appointed version of Tommy Robinson to fight back against this mooslamic takeover.

In all seriousness I would hate for this to happen.
 
Really would rather not.

If you think this club has lost its soul now because we earn our way through sponsorships and shirt sales. Just wait until we no longer have to worry about earning our way through sponsorships and shirt sales.
 
I hope they are there signing a deal for official prayer rugs or something silly.

Probably right... but even if it's to do with sponsorship, this is not the fecking right time to be doing business with the Saudis at all. (If there ever is...)

And that's the saddest part.
 
The only tangible difference is we'll have lots of money and owners that actually want us to win.

The Saudi regime will just have more attention drawn to it, which again isn't a bad thing (although are they really that bad in the grand scheme of regimes anyway?).

I have my fingers crossed for this.

I don't think he was denied because we couldn't afford to spend a set amount though. We don't know the details for certain but the rumours suggest it's more about justifying the spending on certain players. That's a different thing even if it's a similar result.
 
Why the hell are some of you panicking when you know their meeting had nothing to do with discussing a sale of the club. You all know we are the Glazers cash cow and as long as we make good revenue there is no chance in hell they are going to sell. Only once we start taking a big hit comercially are they probably going to start listening to offers but until then they will unfortunately be here.
 
I'll get a lot of stick for this comment, but if this were Liverpool, I'd be jumping for joy, despite having good owners already.

It's oil money, it's tainted, it comes at the cost of lives, etc... Well, so does pretty much every luxury item you own. Your clothes are made in sweatshops, your electronics are manufactured in a place where suicide nets are put up in place of improvements to basic living standards... Why the selective conscience on this? Or is it just the idea of having to listen to City fans lambast you for what you've given them stick over for the past decade?

You're already owned by foreigners anyway, so it's not like you're losing much there in terms of sticking to the core of who you are. I'd take the better football over any sort of moral high ground, as I already gave up that high ground with the stuff I own anyway.
 
Would you guys be happy if they bought Liverpool? Because let's face it, they're gonna buy someone. And if they bought Liverpool then expect them to overhaul our title count pretty soon and add afew more UCL titles to their portfolio.

Because United don't need them, they just need sufficient access to their own resource and people who know how to run a club properly.

In all seriousness, selling out club to an evil dictatorship would spark the end for a great many United fans. Just as it would for a great many Liverpool fans in a similar position.

You say that now when you can only dream of the success it brings but state sponsored wins will ring hollow soon enough and the wider issues will be brought into focus.
Of course I want to win the EPL but that nagging voice as we stick 6 past a proper club like Bournemouth will become defeating as time goes on.

This forum is not full of rational decision making.

Their opinions are "oh no evil Saudis taking over ma clerb..." and nothing deeper.
 
Who would have thought Utd fans would be gutted about a potential Glazer sale.

Guessing though there is so much oil money swilling around they may as well cash in on Utd now.

Could be discussing possible PR strategy after a takeover or what our current sponsorship model is etc.
Can't see why a Glazer would be involved in sponsorship dealings sadly.
 
I feel like I would probably stop supporting the club if this happened.

You’re right in everything you say. And IF we are sold to mega wealthy owners who want success for United ON the field again and not so much commercially, I welcome it.

All of us put gas in our cars and support these regimes indirectly anyway. No one says “That’s it I’m not going to drive until the oil is owned by someone else.”
