It would be a tiered approach.

Anyone invest up to 5% of the 5 billion (this is where the rich fans would come in. Even if we got 10 wealthy fans that would be substantial chunk.

Then there would be those which might have 1 million to 5 million. That would be the second fans.

Then the people with anything from £25000 to £500,000. We are still talking about wealthy investors.

You will have a large amount of people that would be investing into £1000 - £10,000

And the lowest tier would be anyone with £250 - £1000

I would be happily put £25000 down in a collective.

There are plenty of people that would put £250 down, just to have a say on who becomes the CEO / president of the club.

The reason why the Red Knights failed was because they didn't have enough cash.

Red Knights II + tiered approach sounds ambitious, but I think it's not impossible.

Imagine, would you not be willing to put a minimum of £250 down? Multiply that with all the other people.
But the million big investors ain't going to put money in with no return. Anyway you look at it even if everybody at the bottom put 250 quid in, and that's still a lot of money for no return to a lot of people. As I said its a nice dream, but wouldn't work in reality.

So is there anything in this or is it hot air, any updates?

Hot air. Just some Youtuber looking for clicks.

Apart from that, there's been nothing for six months, since before the Khashoggi murder, which seems to have been the catalyst for a big power struggle at the top of the kingdom.

Of course, but the Glazers are in it for the money so if they get an offer that is high enough they’ll sell.

I truly doubt it. They seem to genuinely enjoy owning sports teams so, unless there's something they desperately want to do, I think they'd just say no. That's the nice thing about being rich. And, if they just need a little spending cash, it would be simple to sell a 10% stake without losing any control.

Unfortunately this wont happen. Would have been so much fun seeing hypocrite "fans" who would have stopped supporting us.

Unfortunately that we aren't being taken over my human rights abusing, terrorist supporting murderers???

It's no wonder the world is such a mess. People today have no moral compass anymore. I'd never stop supporting United if they took over but I'd never step foot inside OT again and give them 1 penny of my money. Never.

Look into Glazers and their history. They've directly benefited from all 3 issues you've talked about.

This wasn't to me, but i think if your going to accuse the Glazer's of absuse, terrorism and supporting murders the onus should be on you to provide that evidence.

Im not sure slander is taken to well here

The utter nonsense on here at times. I'm no fan of the Glazers but to suggest they are involved in that kind of stuff is completely wrong. I think you've lost the plot pal.

They would get a return. Same as the Glazers have a dividend each year. And the club will be worth more and more in the future with the new PL/CL deals to be negotiated in the coming years. With Amazon, Netflix, Apple TV + etc wanting a piece of the biggest footballing events, the money from tv-rigths will increase substantially. And if the club is still owned by the Glazers at this point, then the cost of buying the club might be double of what the rumored £4b it is now.

Not that i think that a Red Knight 2 + tiered investors are likely to buy the club, as it is more likely that the Norwegian Oil Fund will buy a 49% share of the club than the club being bought by rich fans.

If you paid just 1% return a year that would be 40-50 million a year, depending on whether its 4-5 billion to buy from the Glazers. The profit we make is around 40 million, so all the profit would go on giving a return. What about if a few dozen want to pull their money out over the following years? Who replaces them? The people who pulled out would want a profit on what they put in as well. Its all too many ifs and buts to work.

Dividend is what it is called, and it is based on either (according to the set stipulation in each deal) annual profit or earnings. And i do not think that the dividend would be the main reason for buying this club. It would be the growth in value in football and consequently increased value of the footballclub.

It wouldnt be the main reason, but folks cant afford, or expect to put money into something, especially the richer ones that have been mentioned putting tens of thousands in, without getting a return, or dividend for their money.

It is theoretically possible, but they would earn more by putting them into stockportefolios etc.

Actually, we are mostly funding Norway (about 60% of oil/gas imports to the UK).

Saudi Arabia accounts for about 3%, putting them behind the likes of Nigeria, Algeria, USA, Libya, Russia.

3% is still a lot of money for the Saudi's to use for their over indulgence and inhumane treatment of others. Fans from UK are not the only ones outraged by the way.

Barney isn't someone that makes up stuff and I do take notice when he shares information regarding the club. He has information that someone is trying to buy the club from the Middle East and are actively in discussions with the Glazers which corroborates with what Romain Molina reported a few weeks back and he's tier 1 for reliability if reddit is anything to go by. With player contracts running down and the delay in appointing a DOF, it points to something happening behind the scenes..

Why are we so desperate for billionaire owners? People do realize we make more money than any other club in the world we could easily compete in the transfer market if we had competent people in charge of building a squad and hiring the right manager/head coach for it but we have absolutely no Plan on how to operate a the football side of a modern football club and in the end the bug has to stop with our CEO who needs to work out a viable strategy. If he is incapable of that the board needs to show some balls and fire this incompetent failure of a CEO.

I just can’t see it. United are among the top three, if not the most wealthiest clubs in world football. It would take a gargantuan bid for the Glazers to even consider selling, somewhere north of £3.5bn, and even then the spending will only start as the squad needs a huge overhaul to get to the pinnacle of English and European football again.

Are United that attractive of a proposition that someone/a group can justify spunking something in the region of £4.5bn all-in over the next five years?

It seems like the Glazers are desperate to cash in, and there's been reports in the past that at least two siblings wanted out..

The Saudi's wouldn't even hesitate to pay that...

It’s not all about money for the Saudis, it’s about Prestige and about showing the world what they are capable of. They don’t care about the money, for them it’s an investment which will make everyone in the footballing world sit up and notice. An opportunity to buy one of top 10 biggest clubs in the world with a big history and a shite load of trophies is not an opportunity that comes by everyday. The Man City purchase and the PSG purchase will fade in comparison. I can see why they would be interested but does that mean the news is true? Not really

People are desperate for change. I, for one, have no faith in our current off field leadership.

I've thought for a long time that our owners only care about making money. Not football. I hate to compare to City, but their off field leadership clearly prioritises footballing success. Ours say our off field success isnt affected by our on field mediocrity (not in so many words).

No.

Ultimately, it comes down to ambition rather than just money.

The Glazers have zero sporting ambition and completely lack any sort of future vision for the club. They are here to make money and couldn't care if we win trophies or not. With them it is financial success first and sporting success a distant second.

The Saudis want to be the best and as a result they would make Manchester United the best. No longer would the squad be full of mid table quality. No longer would we have a clown (Woodward) running the club. No longer would OT be seen as dated. The Saudis would invest massively in OT whereas the Glazers haven't invested anything. With the Saudis it would be sporting success first and financial success second. That is the difference!

I've thought of something from the opinion of someone who was against them.

Isn't it ethically better that they spend their money on United so that they have less money to use for nefarious reasons? Just a thought.

Where are you seeing he's tier 1 on Reddit? Don't see his name on reddevils tiers.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there!

It was mentioned in the takeover discussion about Molina being on the money and wasn't a scooper etc. Neil Custis, Andy Mitten, Duncan Castles etc have also said there's something going on and the Glazers are looking to sell.

I dont want Saudis anywhere near the club, unfortunately I feel like they will end up buying United. Which is sad because they wont give a toss if Ole is a club legend, as soon as he fails to meet expectations, he'll be shown the door.

Without mega billionaire owners you would have owners who would expect at least a large wage and payback of the money it took to buy the club and that is a fact. They would be no different to the Glazers. Unless we found a jack walker with mega deep pockets, then the only other owners who probably wouldnt want a payback are the oil men.

As soon as anyone fails to meet expectations, they should be shown the door.

Ole being a club legend shouldn't matter at that point.

I dont think I'd appreciate managers being shown the door every 2 years into a 3-4 year project, where has it got us so far?

Erm that works in every football club. If you ain’t improving the team you are shown the door and if Ole spends a shitload in the summer and we still miles off then he will be shown the door unless we owned by the Glazers then they will just be happy with top four. Which sadly our fans are content with now. We have turned into a more expensive Arsenal.

Who is content with just top 4?

If the project is failing, there's no need to continue.

Would you have kept on with Moyes? With Van Gaal? With Mourinho?

All of them had to go.

I wouldnt mind Sauron taking over United if it meant getting rid of the Glazers. They are at the root of everything that's wrong with our club.

If there's 1 positive in the Saudis taking over, it'd be Woodward no longer having say in footballing matters. I highly doubt he'd keep that job.
