Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester United

Pathetic performance. I don't care that we're 1-0 up. The attitude of our players has been appalling. Absolutely no urgency or passion, all just walking around like it's a kick about in the park.

Play like that in the second half, and we will lose.

I sort of wish Parker was playing. Spurs doing very well in midfield, closing down Scholes and Carrick well. Rooney looking rusty. Valencia's a big miss today.

Only a matter of time before we go three in midfield and introduce Giggs.

The booing is obviously for the ref and their non-goal from Ade, and not for their side

I think the midfield is the one area where we are even. Jones, Nani, Rooney, Welbeck, are all looking weaker than their equivalent pieces.

Assou-Ekotto and Lennon are looking better than Nani and Young, are giving Jones nightmares whereas their full backs look like they could go on holiday. Adebayor and Saha are storming through our central defence, whereas King and Company have Rooney and Welbeck in their pocket.

Its only central midfield where we are even, and Parker is effin suspended!

we can't keep possession for shit. Scholes lacks mobility which is understandable. Most of the time we boot it forward or to the wings, which doesn't help at all hence we're predictable and Nani/Young/Welbeck/Rooney can't get a sniff.

Defensively I think we're ok(bar Jones), having in mind all the pressure put on our defenders.

Spurs ad I know is saying "how can Spurs win when the refs control the games for United? there's no point playing" I reckon I'll stoke the flames.

There midfield have hussled us really well, we struggle big time when being pressed high up we just keep going backwards.

Nani needs to impose himself more and our forwards must hold the ball up better

They were booing the ref nor their players (I'd like to think)

Ando and Rafael need to come on. We aren't mobile enough in the middle.

Spurs deserve no credit for dominating?

Rio, Evans and Evra have been excellent as has Ashley Young as far as tracking back is concerned.

Smash and Grab. I aint moaning

HT. We've been lacklustre. Rooney's goal aside I don't think anyone will be happy with the way we've played. For long periods our midfield and attack have been invisible against them. Sloppy use of possession in the centre and virtually nothing coming from the wings. The strikers meanwhile have done very little of note. Defemsively we've just barely kept them at bay despite some errors.

Everyone needs to bring their A-Game in the second half because we don't really deserve anything so far.

Tend I agree, Spuds have done brilliantly in pressing us and putting us under pressure. Just hope they tire soon.

We need to make a change, can't carry on playing like we did in the first half..

Jonny Evans has been outstanding. Pretty sure we will improve after the half.

Not a great half for us there. A bit sloppy at times. We can tighten that though hopefully. Modric getting sucked in centrally as the half went on, think we gotta challege that flank more.

I don't think they've been anything special themselves tbh. If they had been, they'd be about 3 up. I think we've just been so unbelivably bad we've made them look good.

Well said RF.

Sky keeping going on about the disallowed 'goal' as if he didn't control it with his arm.

They are willing Spuds to win, even with an illegal goal.

They would prefer buy a title Shitty to win the league?

Wonder if we might have to sacrifice Welbeck to secure the midfield battle. Not now, but see how things go for the first ten minutes of the second half, and then consider bringing on somebody to go in CM.

We were absolutely raped by Spurs yet we are winning:lol:

Always calls for half time changes in our match day threads. It hardly ever happens, so why ask?

Surely that goal and a bit of sorting out will put us in a good position now in the 2nd. Make changes as the 2nd progesses

Rooney has now scored twice against Tottenham, City and Liverpool and thrice against Chelsea and Arsenal this season.

We just need to keep the ball better, chill.

Souness' praise for Adebayor surprises me. Seemed like a lot of their attacks broke down with him.

relying on this as am not near a tv.

whats 1st half been like? good goal by rooney? are we in control?

He brings his arm down to control the ball. Handball for me.

Don't like your attitude there! Not the best performance but the goal is hardly undeserved. It is a big boost for us and for sure we won't sit back in second half.

Spurs just aren't afraid of us. They started tentatively but the longer the game has gone on the more men they've committed to the attack which has led to an increase in white shirts in our half making it easier to close us down. We need to give em something to think about bring on Hernandez. Closest thing to a fear factor we've had since CR7. We need Spurs to be too scared to push forward what they're up against now just ain't scaring them .

need to take jones off (for the yellow he's carrying more than anything else),
need to pressure the ball and limit spuz' possession (the lads should have plenty of energy left),
and they need to go for the jugular.
