Fab deserves a mention too.

"Fab deserves a mention too."

Right he made some superb saves. Veron was MOM with Barthez and Becks close behind. Good team performance in general.

Just got back from watching the game. Was a good overall performance - but a little fussy around the box. On another day we'd have one by 3 or 4 easily - but if Barthez wasn't on top form we could have thrown it away. Seba MOM - Becks had some good touches and you can just see Keano getting better game by game.

Now let's hope the scouse nick a result against the gooners....

Plank thought our defence was very strong.
SAF just said that no matter how many chances we create we have to convert them into the goals. he gave credit to barthez and said "he won us the game."

Quite agree. Forlan is always capable of scoring but his all round play hasn't been that brilliant - and the idea behind this is that if we say it often enough, he will score. :D

So bearing that in mind -

Ole is total crap and can't put the ball in the net any more.

Diego flatters to deceive.

Becks can't put in decent crosses.

Veron shouldn't be in the EPL

Keane isn't fit

Scholes can't play withdrawn striker to save his life.</strong><hr></blockquote>

still think that

"Diego flatters to deceive.

Becks can't put in decent crosses.

Veron shouldn't be in the EPL

Keane isn't fit"

is all true??
;)

so who was playing where in defence:

IMO this is our best lineup:

Wes Rio Silvestre O'shea

I wasn't there, I've just read he had made a good game. The game is broadcasted on the French TV at 9, so I'll spend a good evening. :D

east stand sees all the action yet again.
we dominated today more than any other game this season.
becks, seba and fabbo would all rate 9/10 for me today, with veron just edging it for MOM.
there were a few times when becks, seba and keano were just passing the ball around sublimely. sheer heaven - just what SAF dreamed about when he bought veron last season.
shame our finishing was so poor. scholsey going through a bad patch - its just not working for him, but in fairness he's not a left winger anyway. if he'd have had a left foot he could have hit 2 in the first 10 minutes.
defence looked very solid, and with 4 fast players at the back (ie no larry !), the full backs could push up a lot more with confidence that if we lost the ball then someone could move in quickly. wes didn't perform up to his usual standard, but rio after being out for so long looked good - pity he can't shoot though.
hope that the dippers take all 3 points tomorrow, cos every point that Team France drop will be to our advantage.
roll on facup and worthless semi !!

You are joking aren't you.......

I've just seen the game. Frankly, if we had lost today (or drawn), it would have been a hold-up. With better finishing we could have won 5-0 ! I was impressed by the first goal, I like it when several players are involved for a goal, it was not a goal scored by whim, it was almost mathematical ! The second was not bad too BTW... :D

Fab and Becks were the most important contributes for us in this match. Becks opened the deadlock while Fab (MOM in my opinion) kept us the led and avoid a disaster draw. Veron was also fantastic today. His passing was the best I see since he joined us and now he really looked like a top midfielder in the world.

However I was a bit disappointed with the front line today. With the chances we created it should have been a 4-0, but indeed if not for Barthez's heroic saves we may well have got an embrassing draw.
