Time to consolidate our lead

United have a good record against Everton and a good record on St. Stephen's Day (apart from last season) and I can see nothing to change that. Everton overachieved slightly last season and are back where they belong now. They have won two on the trot but have a real weakness in midfield. Gravesson and Carsley haven't the class. Kilbane is basically a moron with a job at a football club and Radzinski is a bit hit and miss at the best of times. I wonder if Moyles will play Rooney from the start, and if he does, will Rooney keep his head when United start dominating midfield? McFadden looks useful for them, but he won't get enough of the ball(if he starts) to make a huge impact IMO.

Keano could be 50-50 to play after going off against Spurs, but it shouldn't really matter.

3-0 to United, Van with 2, and Scholes.

With Liverpool doing so badly, suddenly the Everton fans won't be cheering for us, oh well, never mind, we'll beat them anyway.

What price another 2-0 lead in the first half and another lacklustre 2nd half? :nervous:

And if Liverpool were challenging for the title Everton would want us to win on Boxing Day? :drunk:

I think we'll do very well to come out of our next 2 games with 4 points.

I reckon Everton shouldn't be too tough, but you're right that Boro could be another story.

I think they'll both be tough, although my main concern is with the lack of recuperation between the games. We play at OT on the 26th and then go to Boro on the 28th. Diego, Kleb, Ronaldo, Butt and other fringe players should all see some action.

Yep both teams are on the up. Not going to be easy.

Seeing as both Everton and Boro are in the same situation as us I think it would be advisable to play our strongest team against Everton and leave tired or injured players out against Boro. Everton are sure to field a strong side against us and Boro will do the same against Blackburn. But we have the advantage of a bigger sqaud than Boro.

if i were the great man i might rest keano on the 26th and play butt or maybe even kleb in next to PN. rather save some the old heads for the away match on the 28th. same back 4 w/ maybe fortune for o'shea. drop fletcher for roni.

Well, the only Everton fans I know are quite happy to see us pissing all over Liverpool every season. :)

no ronaldo please :(

You never know what might happen, just look at what Fulham did, however, i'd probably bet my last mince pie that United win though.

Different teams, Boro and Everton.

Everton have a very tough midfield but lack creativity and rely on Rooney for inspiration. Boro, on the other hand, have some good ball-players. I'd play Roy against Everton to get to grips with Carsley and Gravesen, and then maybe Butt against Boro to stifle Mendieta.

If Keano is out, step forward Kleberson. Hes the most well rounded player in the squad after Keane, he'll be playing the role he did for Brazil when they won the worldcup. Home game so its one for Ronaldo, the rest pick themselves.

Where has Djemba2 been all this time by the way??, I think he would be perfect for a team like boro, like aghainst the arse in the charity sheild, as they always seem to catch us on the break after sitting deep for the entire game. Against everton fergie should play kleberson and ronaldo for a fast attacking team.

GK: Howard
RB: G Neville
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Silvestre
LB: O'Shea
DM: Fortune
DM: Butt
AM: Ronaldo
AM: Kleberson
AM: Giggs
FW: Forlan

Let them worry about us. Everton will be content with sitting back and playing for a point.

SAF: "We have only one doubt and that's Roy Keane with a hamstring injury. It was tight. It wasn't a pull or anything but nonetheless we'll assess it on Boxing Day. I may not have played him anyway but we will have to make sure he's fit for the Sunday game. There's a possibility of two or three changes but no more than that."

i had a feeling he wouldn't play because of the tight sch'd of matchs. and i'd play kleb next to phil "the thrill".

oi gaz we gettin' the MUFC match on jan 7 live ?

we've won the last 14 out of sixteen adn drawn two against Everton.

Not sure. Will probably get an email tomorrow or day after. The game at Bolton on Wed Jan 7 kicks off at 8pm in England so yeah I would expect it to be on live.

BTW our game against Villa in the cup is not live on FSW or PPV. They're showing Watford-Chelsea and Arsenal-Leeds for $16 each and Liverpool-Yeovil on FSW.

Not confirmed, but I read in Israel a report claiming Ronaldo is home for Christmas - until after christmas. So he's not going to be around until the Villa cup tie.

He's in the squad for Friday's game according to the BBC.

Manutd 2-0 Everton. Ruud and Scholes get one goal each. I dont think Everton will give us any problems. Let's just hope that Charlton and Wolves can do some damage against Chelsea and Arse.

We have a great run against the evertonians at OT. Here is the last 10 years record. I can't see Everton win tomorrow :)

2002/2003 United 3-0 Everton
2001/2002 United 4-1 Everton
2000/2001 United 1-0 Everton
1999/2000 United 5-1 Everton
1998/1999 United 3-1 Everton
1997/1998 United 2-0 Everton
1996/1997 United 2-2 Everton
1995/1996 United 2-0 Everton
1994/1995 United 2-0 Everton
1993/1994 United 1-0 Everton

I read earlier that Fergie would consider to start resting players in X-mas, since the squad was more thiny and unexperienced than previous years.

Here is the next mathes:

Dec 26 Man Utd v Everton
Dec 28 Middlesbrough v Man Utd
Jan 4 Aston Villa v Man Utd
Jan 7 Bolton v Man Utd

I don't hope that SAF will rest, let's say Nistelrooy against Everton or Boro. any thoughts?

It could happen, not against Boro surely but Everton, possibly. As for next month... It may also depend on whether we do any business.

Also read that Ronaldo is given a 3-week vacation in January. Maybe Fletcher gets a good run?
