Cunningly stolen from the Fixtures page.

3-1

Just had to edit it, I know people would complain if it didn't look as it should. ;)

How many players will Fergie rest until the Lille game? Fergie has played a strong team against Villa and Pompey, but will he rest more players against Reading?

2-1

tight game - reading are playing extremely well and played quite well last time they were at old trafford!

saha x 2 time for him to get back on the scoresheet

Tricky one 2-1 for us

------------Pig-------------
Brown---Rio----Vida---Heinze
Ron--Carrick--Fletch-----Park
--------Larsson-------------
-------------Saha-----------

no need to play a full strenght team

------------Kuszsak-------------
Brown---Vidic----Silvestre---Heinze
Park----Carrick--Fletcher-----Richardson
-----------Larsson--Saha-----------

will do

rest the others for Europe

I'm afraid that team won't do the job.

2-1 as the previous 2 FA Cup games have gone.

Team should be:

GK: Kuszczak

RB: Neville
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Vidic
LB: Heinze

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Carrick
CM: Fletcher
LM: Park

CF: Larsson
CF: Saha

Give's Rooney (suspended), Scholes and Giggs a rest even though we dont have another game for 7 days after this.

Going for Ronaldo and Saha to score

Isn't CL just 4 days after this game?

Didn't know that, justifies my team even more then :D

EDIT: Bring in Ole then for Larsson

Really hard game I think. We might nick it with some of our key players out, but it's going to be real hard.

Having that said, it'll probably 3 or 4 to 0. :D

--------------------------Kuzczak------------------------

--Brown-----------Rio--------------Vidic---------Heinze---

--Park-------------Carrick--------Fletcher--------Giggs----

--------------------Ole--------Saha-----------------------

Subs: Heaton, Neville, Richardson, Ronaldo, Larsson
Prediction: Difficult 2-1 win for us with goals from Ole, Saha

I think Coppell have said that he will field reserve team squad for this fixture so I suppose Alex should do the same

-------------Kusz--------------
Brown---Rio-------Vidic--Heinze
Park----Fletch--Carrick--Richardson
---------Saha-Smith(Ole)

Why would he do that?

3 days! on the 20th. So there's only two full days of rest there and I really want some away goals at Lille.

I wish we could get away with resting Nev and Evra for this, along with some midfielders, but Rooney's absence might make that impossible. Ronnie might still be weak from his sickness and Carrick's groin pull, unless spectacularly minor, should be well taken care of before Lille.

This would be nice:

PIG

Brown Rio Vidic Heinze

Park Fletcher Scholes Giggs

Saha Larsson

Subs: Heaton, O'Shea, Carrick, Ronaldo, Ole

This is what I'm expecting:

PIG

Nev Rio Vidic Evra

Park Carrick Scholes Ronaldo

Saha Larsson

Subs: Heaton, O'Shea, Fletcher, Giggs, Ole

Kuscackksksk
Brown-rio-vidic-heinze
ronaldo-carrick-fletcher-park
--------larsson-saha--------
a comfortable 2-0 win.

PIG
Nev Rio Vida Gabz
Park Carrick Scholes Ronaldo
Saha Ole/Larsson

3-0 tp us, saha, ronaldo(2)

-------------------------PIG-------------------------
Brown-----Ferdinand-------------Silvestre------Heinze
-Park-------Fletcher--------------Carrick------Ronaldo
------------Larsson----------------Saha--------------

Subs: Heaton, O´Shea, Scholes, Richardson, Solskjaer

Rest: Neville, Vidic, Evra, Giggs

---------------- Kuszczak -------------------
Neville ---- Rio ------------- Vidic ---- Heinze

Ronaldo ---- Carrick -- Scholes ------- Parky

------------ Larsson - Saha ----------------

If we use a stronger team and hopefully finish them off before the 60 minute mark then we can make some changes. We cant afford to take them lightly. They are playing great right now and if we play a weak side then we'll pay the price.

That team really wouldnt do, 8 first eleven players not there.

The midfield would really struggle.

Reading deserve some respect, so as far as possible we should name as strong a side as we can.

--------------Kuszczak
Brown---Vidic-----Rio-------Heinze
---------Carrick---Scholes
Fletcher----------------------Ronaldo
----------Saha-------Larsson
SUBS: Heaton, Giggs, Park, Ole, Evra

I'd prefer to keep Giggs and Evra fresh for the Lille fixture, and I think Fletcher will add a bit more hustle than Park would. Neville looks like he gets pretty exhausted with more than one fixture in a week, so I'd give Brown the nod over him. If all is going well, we can eventually bring on Park for Ronaldo, or bring on Ole to spice things up.

Against Reading in december, we won 3-2 and the team was:

Van Der Sar
Brown, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Heinze,
Ronaldo, O'Shea, Carrick, Park,
Rooney, Solskjaer

Ive just beat them 5-1 on pro evo if this helps

Exactly - a Fletch and Carrick midfield should be fine (lets be honest its actually fairly decent and much stronger defensively than our usual), possibly even replacing Carrick with OShea if things are going well.

Park for Giggs as well - Park has put some decent performances in and is an able deputy - can always have Giggs on the bench if necessary.

Heinze and Brown as FBs is fine - theyd walk into any other PL side - FFS Heinze up until v.recently was our No1 LB!! Silvestre hasnt had much action recently so im not sure about that but its a possibility.

Definitely start with Saha as hes been out with injuries a bit this season and will be fresh plus it would be good for his confidence if he could get on the scoresheet again. Rooney is suspended and i reckon he might start with a Larsson/Rooney combo against Lillle so Ole should come in.

SUBS - Larsson, Giggs, OShea, Polish (if Van is fit), Silvestre

IMO, Heinze will start the Lille game as it's an away European game (hence, a less adventurous approach from the full backs required in favour of defensive solidity) and more importantly, as we've learnt last year - Lille is one of the most physically aggresive team we've faced - which will suit Heinze better than Evra. So, since Heinze will start Lille - Evra will start the Reading game. I think it's a good bet that Rio & Vidic will always start together unless injury or a very punishing schedule. And as 3 out of our 4 regular defenders starts, that will leave Fergie a chance to rest Gary till the Lille game - so Brown will get a start at RB.

CM: Ronaldo-Fletcher-Carrick-Park will allow rest for Scholes & Giggs (again for the Lille game) but still be competitive with Reading.

Saha & Larsson picks themselves as our 2 CF.

Bench: Heaton, Heinze, Scholes, Richardson (as the "token" sub to come on when the game has been wrapped up) & Solskjaer.

I agree but I'd have Rooney on the bench instead of Giggsy or Ole tbh.

Got a feeling O'Shea starts instead of Scholesy though too...

Don't underestimate Reading. Actucally they've collected more points in Premiership than United in this calendar year (Reading - 16 out of 18, United -13 out of 18). On current form, this match is the clash between 1st and 2nd best team.

Too true... in fact, in the last 8 games they've scored 17 pts to our 19, scored 21 goals (we've scored 22) and let in 9 against our 8. Could be a tough game...
