New England Revolution v Manchester United - Pre-season Friendly

They are cringe-worthy but some actually have a bit behind them. Boston was a central location in the Revolutionary War, hence New England Revolution.

What about the Galaxy? I think thats the worst team name by far.

Berba almost, Young with a decent cross just a bit too high.

Yeah, that one is horrible. What were they thinking?

Real Madrid = successful. If we call ourselves Real something, we can also be successful.

I have it on good authority that the next MLS team will be called The Florida Barcelonas United.

Excal,
on the bebe scale, I assume the lower the number the better the cross right? So a 0.2 Bebe is actually a good score and a 0.9 bebe is well...

Originally, they were allegedly going to have some loose link with Real Madrid, but it didn't pan out and they just kept the name.

They were actually lost the final of the CONCACAF Champions League which would have sent them to the Club World Cup. I'm kinda glad, because then the whole world would know we have a team called 'Real Salt Lake'.

I actually quite like the silly American Team names...Precisely because they're so stupid. It's their own little unique thing. I'd burn off my own ears if it ever happened over here, but it kind of works over there. Sets the MLS apart a bit & makes it more American....Plus it's funny.

Really dont think I'm going to warm to Young, every time I see him in that shirt I get the feeling Chinese families who are really hoping for a boy must get when they find out they're having a girl instead...

That and he seems to dribble a lot without actually going past his man.

The worst thing is when European sports teams try to be North American and take names like that. Like the ice hockey team Frölunda Indians... from Gothenburg, Sweden. Makes no sense.

Yeah probably. There's actually a Carlstad United in the Swedish second division.

Alas, Kansas City Wizards are no more. They've rebranded as Sporting Kansas City.

This reminds me of my favorite MLS naming scenario. KC were originally "The Kansas City Wiz". Bad enough was when they played Dallas in the playoffs. That club is now called FC Dallas. At the time, it was the Dallas Burn.

So, yes. We had the regrettably-named Wiz-Burn match.

Rooney is apparently looking for another ESPY nomination.

Listening to the American commentators is fecking hilarious.
