I heard a rumour that the Bebe deal was done as a sweetener for the De Gea deal. Same agent, and pocketed a small fortune on Bebe, for the promise to arrange arrival of our new keeper, a year on. Anyone else heard this ??

Been floating around for ages. We've dealt with that agent quite a few times I think.

Or perhaps Fergie just got a transfer wrong.

The simplest solution might be right y'know.

Good actor too

Am i wrong in sayning not all diets are to lose weight?

This. Diet here means a set list of what to eat to influence him to bulk up a bit, or atleast to aid him to bulk up along with his training.

Not the diet that consists of lettuce and other rabbit food....

Does anybody know if/when he is due to join up with the squad in America?

Not sure if this is true. VDS was also as thin as a rake. He may go on a diet to make him stronger, but that is a different thing!

All the U21 tourney members are joining up at the same time in the US at a later date. So Jones, Smalling, De Gea, Welbeck will join up later, along with Chico and Tony V. Saw it on Doron Salomon's blog.

This much I knew, except that manutd.com doesn't include Valencia as a player linked to join up with the squad later. I have a ticket to the game in Chicago and was hoping they'd have joined up by then.

The Telegraph wrote Hernandez is not back until Scholes' testimonial. Maybe Valencia too...

"I went to see Petr [Cech] when he was at Rennes. He was 19 years of age at the time and I said to myself "he's too young." Chelsea bought him at the end of the season for £7m and he's never been out of the team. So youth, age, doesn't matter when you have the ability of a goalkeeper like Petr Cech, or as we know David De Gea has. He's young, he's quick, has fantastic presence and composure, his use of the ball is outstanding. So all these are plus points that don't go away. He's got these natural things."

To those asking, De Gea joins up with #MUFC squad in Seattle on Sunday #MUTOUR

Sir Alex Ferguson: I regret Petr Cech blunder | Mail Online

LOL at the spin the Daily Fail have put on Fergie's comments, we haven't done too bad with VDS have we. He's been better than Cech for the duration of his stay with us that's for sure!!

Well that's a bit nonsensical isn't it.

For Cech's first two seasons he was the league's best and at a very young age, until his head injury Cech was miles ahead of Edwin.

Since the head injury Edwin has took over as the better, it's not as clear cut as you make out,

Even that's debatable though. Cech had a much much better defence than Edwin had at that time.

this.

carvalho and terry at their best made it easier for cech. but no doubt cech was arguably the best in the world, top 3 at least for that short period, 2004-2006.

but when we signed vidic and paired him with rio, our defence was very much sorted out and edwin benefits from that.

i'm very happy to have vds, the only shame part is that we didn't sign him straight away after schmeichel left. he could had been with us for 12 years!!

Reports were he was due to join up with the team today. Its only 10:40 am in Seattle so hopefully more news to follow later in the day.
