Went to the open practice session last night. Interesting how both spent their hour.
Both did keep away, but Barca's was a lot tighter space and a lot more serious.
Pep was a lot more involved in Barca's practice whereas Fergie just watched United's.
United were doing some complicated variation of plays leading to crosses in the box. They also took shots from the 18 during that drill. Barca's was very simple and concentrated on crosses from the left - they never did it from the right side. Evra beware.
United also practiced shots. Rooney was on target and Anderson's looked sharper. Carrick was dreadful. Diouf looks able to shoot but was poor on the crosses. Owen and Macheda were in the middle to poach. Barca spent the last 20 minutes on a small sided scrimmage. They looked a lot sharper than United and look fully committed to tonight's game. They won't take it lightly.
Barca were also better for their fans. Whereas United only held their session at one end, Barca made sure to practice in ever corner of the stadium. They had a section where if you paid more, you got autographs and United stuck mostly to that spot, whereas Barca players went to each part of the stadium to sign things. Wish United took that consideration.
In all it was a good run out for both. Barca look serious which makes tonight's game all the better. Looking forward to the sold-out crowd! Based on last night, looks like Barca will have a more vocal and larger fan base.
