I know it's shocking, but it is actually possible to watch leagues outside of England.

You're the one asking the question... :wenger:

He's only played one and a half seasons as a professional. Going on that alone would be enough for most to say he's far from the finished product. From what I've seen of him (outside of England shockingly enough, apparently) he's got a lot to learn, but that doesn't make me any less confident he'll succeed at United. He's a fantastic talent, and one we're fortunate to have landed.

I'm sure if you asked him, he'd say that he's still improving every day.

I know his all round game is improving, but what I'm saying is in terms of distribution he is more or less complete

From what I saw of the Barca game I think he has a huge future. To be as good as he is at 20 or 21 indicates he could become something special. Kept within the context of his age his performance I thought was outstanding, looks to me like we have got a winner.

*to the tune of Hava Nagila* David de Gea, David de Gea, David de Gea, United's number one, OLÉ!

You can't score past my De Gea, De Gea, De Gea, De Gea....HEY, past my De Gea!

His beure posted this on twitter

"Good morning from Manchester! Cloudy ... but a beautiful day!"

out of curiosity, how much is he making per week? has it been released?

I've searched google but nothing official other than a website saying hes on 70,000 per week (along with Jones on 50,000 and Young on 100,000)

I call bullshit on those numbers.

obviously to be taken with a mind that there is nothing official out there but it was all I could find after a brief look. In the Jones thread I thought someone posted about him in a night club with a new Audi and mentioning to be on 55,000 a week. Again speculation...

De Gea was rumoured to be on less than 10k at Madrid. As i don't think he signed a new contract since he broke into there first team.

Youtube is useless when it comes to keepers, none of the videos factor in distribution or dealing with crossing.

I know he was on comparatively smaller wages at Atletico, however I did read he was offer a bumper contract when we started to sniff around though Im not sure if he accepted it.

I wouldnt be surprised if his wages were tripled as a means to lure him away from Madrid. That being said, 70,000 does seem a rather steep increase.

No matter what Jones is on, not close to 50k, a new Audi would still only be a weeks pay. Also the signing bonus is many a weeks pay so he would have no problem buying a new car even though he wouldn't get more than 10k per week.

Isn't Audi a big sponsor of United? Probably got a deal on it if he even had to pay for it in the first place.

Most likeliest explanation. All United players driving Audi = Great for Audi. Costs them less than a commercial in USA where most viewers can't even afford to buy it.

Wow

Every time I watch this guy he impresses me, even when he's got bugger all to do. It's his mentality. Never hurried and exudes calm. Big contrast to recent pretenders to Edwin's throne.

Early days. Looking good, but he's so young for the role.

One thing that is often overlooked is that he's actually more experienced than Lindegaard in terms of games played, and nearly all his 100 or so games have been in higher level competitions (top division of La Liga, Europa cup, Spain U21).

I think there was one moment during the Cosmos game where he caught the ball, threw the ball and when the camera focused on his face he was the most calm man I have ever seen.

If I didn't know he was young I'd never have guessed his age He plays like an old pro. Not a hint of nerves. Amazing really.

I agree so far but let's wait until he plays in a game that actually matters. I know he's got the pressure of having to prove himself even in pre-season games but the added burden of the competitive games is something else.
