Wesley Sneijder

Twitter seems to think he will not be selected for the game against Milan.

Edit: Not much of a story, the actual quotes are:

"Whether Sneijder will play or not play is a question I cannot answer right now,” said Gasperini.

"He's played many positions in the past and I'm sure he can find a position on my team.”

Sneijder not playing tomorrow would just confirm that we've got our Wesley back

Gotta love the Daily Mirror - haven't they reported TWICE now that Sneijder is on his way to United?

Why the feck are newspapers allowed to print downright rubbish? And what is the point in this thread? Absoutely nothing is happening on the Wesley front that anyone knows of. Instead, it's just the same old Caf members posting the same old wummery and YouTube videos that have nothing to do with the player.

inter milan have said there have been no negotiations with us,MUFC say they have not made any contact or offers for the player,,,

Why do some people come here everyday still & insist they want the thread locked down. Seriously, you're not forced to come in to this thread on a daily basis as a rule by the Caf. It's open choice, if you don't like it, don't come & visit - it's simple enough. Leave it to people who actually want to be here :wenger::annoyed:

What the hell? It's a speculation page and neither side are going to come out and outright say they're interested. If anything, both denying it means that something probably is happening. I can't remember if it was Sultan or somebody else who said that United often have pre agreements on players and teams to prevent shit becoming a bidding war or face being lost if something falls through. Berbatov was probably the last player that we've come out and said we wanted before things were agreed but we've signed a hell of alot of players since then.

What is your problem? You post like twice in this thread and you want it locked?

Or here's a thought, go away and don't post in this thread and it won't drive you crackers. Have you given any thought yet to the fact that so many people post in it means they want it on the Caf?

Seriously, I've seen this sort of line spouted a few times in the thread. The sheer hypocrisy of this place can be astounding. We have threads with us outright laughing the scousers because of the deluded shite that they come out with, yet we come out with this sort of thing and act like we're any different to them.

It's like their 'can a loss be a win' logic that we saw the other day after their preseason defeat.

It's called using your fecking brain. Immense speculation, if Inter come out and say he's for sale, it devalues the players, if United mention they're interested then City or whoever else will probably try and jump in. You also have the whole respect thing and tapping up aswell.

Saying it's a done deal would be rawkish, saying communications aren't happening is not.

Again, show me a player United have come out and said they want since Berbatov? You could argue De Gea but if rumours are true then that deal was finalized a long time ago and only need for a change of agents to be done.

In football where there is smoke, there is generally fire. Nothing over the past year has suggested otherwise. We heard rumblings of discontent in the Vidic camp in the papers only for his manager and United to deny it. Anybody with half a brain can see the only reason he's still a United player is because he was given the captaincy. Evra has come out and said he's thought about leaving and Rooney gate etc.

*drum roll* dum du dum du dum du dum..... here comes Honcho with another shit post. *celebrations*

I don't think there's any doubt that United want to sign Sneijder is there? The doubt is if they can get their him.

WE SHOULD LOCK YOU DOWN!

With shitty posts like that. If you don't like Transfer Speculation then may I suggest you stay out of the forum labeled 'Transfer Forum'. Better for all parties involved that way.

This thread =

If Sweinsneijder signs, he signs. If he doesn't, he doesn't.

Endless hours of speculation is not good for some of your tickers I fear.

Oh the classic "everything in the paper is bollox" line. Truth is whether we believe it or not, there is no smoke without fire especially since in this case that the rumors are consistent. I'm sure we're interested in him.

Many people refused to believe the Nani exit rumors to Italy(which he later admitted), Evra exit rumors, Vidic exit rumors and last season the Rooney exit rumors.

The only person who has said that we aren't interested in him is Howard Nurse.

It's obvious we are interested in him. What isn't obvious is if Inter want to sell or even if the player wants to come.

I think it's a NO in both instances personally.

I'd love us to pull of a coup and sign Nasri though - he would add more than the ageing Sneijder, who, in all honestly - can only play the 'No.10' role behind the strikers and in front of the midfield. Nasri can play anywhere in midfield and the wing too.

The transfer forum would be rubbish if we could only create threads for guaranteed transfers.

Blimey, Obertan would have probably generated 3000 pages if that were the case...

Inter are in deep shit financially. If there is a decent offer, he'll be off.

Inter's wage bill last year:

The total wage bill stands at a jaw-dropping €205 million, which produces a wages to turnover ratio of 104%, way beyond any common sense let alone financial prudence.

I don't think it would have lasted this long if it was a no for both. Sneijder would have said it publicly that he does not want to move, none of this "Whatever happens, we'll see" nonsense. On top of that, Inter would have been more of a hands off approach than this "everyone has their price" business.

It's about negotiating the right price for both I reckon.

Well he's not getting younger is he? He won't be 26 next year!

He's not old, but he's comfortably in his prime and it's unusual for us to sign a player of that age bracket.

I didn't realise that - what's the damage?

And also their losses
The last available accounts are for the year ending 30 June 2009 and these report an enormous loss of €154 million (£132 million). Just a blip? Not a bit of it – the previous year’s loss was very nearly as bad at €148 million and the 2007 loss was even worse at €208 million. That gives a cumulative loss of €509 million in just three years – over half a billion!

Don't have the accounts of the last year though, but it looks bad for them.

I thought the club's policy was to avoid spending big sums on players over 26 since they have little resale value?

Sneijder is ageing? He just turned 27 bloody hell!

FYI

If we're talking about a good player then these are the appropriate terms:

16-19 Wunderkind
20-24 Young prospect
25-30 Seasoned pro
31-33 Elder statesman
34-40 Dinosaur

NB/

.For goalkeepers minus 3 years from their actual age to get the correct term.
.For Nigerians add 5 years to the age on their passport.

Read the part of his quote that I highlighted. How on god's green earth having both clubs rubbish this link = it being more likely that there is something happening, I'll never know. You've got to be out of your mind to even try and defend this.
