Off the ball movement or tracking back?

Both. In more specific terms, his off the ball movement in defensive areas and general tracking of runs. Thats understandable though considering he's naturally fla final third player. He has plenty of time to further hone his skills. By the time he's 19 going on 20, he'll be something very special indeed IMVHO

Are you asking me or telling me? These are opinions, not factual. In addition Pogba is a different type of player to Fabregas. So what are you saying?

That Pogba isn't in the same league as Fabregas... Not even close, and I do rate Pogba highly.

Your right he isn't...our club policy is different to Arsenals and Pogba is a good bit younger...

If he does not go out on loan, I hope he starts our FA and CC games. I don't want him on the subs bench for those games. Its time we see what this lad can do in our first team.

Jesus Christ. He looks like a good talent but like 100's before him in exactly the same position he will either make it at football level or he won't, we have little evidence to back up an argument either way. Let's let the kid actually play a game and kick a ball before we dub him the next best thing.

Pogba would not get anywhere near the time on the ball he had yesterday in a competitive game. Premier league especially in the middle of the park is minefield.

I see the twins are given as examples in this thread of youth being given a chance and their progression. As good as the twins are at football it's obvious they have a lot to learn on their positional play, and the position they play is not as crucial if they lose possession or get caught out, unlike the middle. The question we need to ask is Pogba ready to play in the engine room of Manchester United in the cut and thrust of the Premiership at this stage of his career in what is the most important position in the team?

Patience.

Why do we always underrate our youth players? People are saying he's no Fabregas, but if he turns out to be our best midfielder one day then everyone will be jumping on the bandwagon, saying how they always knew he'd be good etc.

Contrary to what a lot of people seem to think, you can still play a lot of first team football for us if you're nowhere near the finished article. I remember reading the caf and seeing people say we can't play Rafael because he always gets caught out of position. That is a major flaw for a right back to have but guess what, Fergie still played him regardless and he played in some very big games. This is the best way for these youngsters to learn the game if they already possess the talent, not playing at reserve level. Tha really offers very little nowadays and is a bit of game time for our fringe players, nothing more.

Anyway, it looks like Pogba is very much in the managers plans for a bit of a role this season.

I've not read a post where anyone says he's not good, or underestimate his talents. He'll get to come on and learn in games we are coasting, or against lesser opponents in various cup competitions. Seems to have been the policy over the seasons with youth.

I have high hopes for Pogba and Morrison, but let's not overrate them first, before they have actually play in a competitive match.

He shouldn't be played away from home, but I would consider giving him sub appearances at old trafford. If they're good enough, they're old enough, that's just my opinion though.

Nowhere near as big a problem for the team as a central midfielder making the same mistakes. As we've all seen from watching Anderson's learning curve at United.

I agree. I think people misread what I say or the way I say it. It's not about 50+ games a season. We could certainly afford him minutes in home games when we're comfortable, especially as 9/10 we'll dominate the game. As for time on the ball, I always think it's about attitude anyway

Ronaldos debut for example, for me in some cases was over hyped. He did 'ok'...but he wasn't brilliant, however he was confident...he was cocky...and we could see he was an entertainer but when it comes to Pogba, with his manipulation of the ball I don't think there's much of an issue.

---
We can be paitent but again I never said let's play him. What I said was I believed he'd make an impression because he's confident and because I don't think he'll change how he plays but we'll see anyway. If we don't get Sneijder, it's certainly not all doom and gloom.

Nice. Potentially in the 22 man squad for Sunday apparently.

Fergie's Fledging's mk II

Good news. Training with fully grown men will mature his game no end. Hopefully we'll see him in the CC.

Fully grown men  I couldnt help but think about Owen, the twins and Evra first. Pogba must be a fully grown man in their eyes! No what u meant though and agreed that he'll learn alot playing with the experienced bunch.

And the best of the bunch is yet to start. Wouldn't mind Morrison getting thrown in at the deep end, dodgy mentality or no dodgy mentality. The talent and maturity of his game is unquestionable IMHO

Was he training with midgets before this?

I know it's probably just a joke but ...

Some of the comments against him going straight into the first team have been that so far in the Academy and reserves is that he's been able to use his superior size for his age to his advantage. That once he steps up against bigger, stronger players, he won't have that much of an advantage.

This should hopefully at least now allow the coaching staff to assess how he'll against those bigger/stronger players.

Why did he not get a shot in the (non us) preseason games?

I can see him getting a loan in the second half of the season..

Unleash the beast. It will be lovely if they can get Scholes to give him some lessons.

Surely he's now skipping Scholes' altogether? Didn't play with him at first team level and now Scholes' is coaching the reserves he's been moved up to the first team.

I think he means extra-curricular...

That's clever. Unless there's some kind of 3rd option. Like youth team players. In which case, it's not.

Doesn't even look like me, stupid.

Edit; I do have that hat though.

Fergie seems to favor keeping the young ones a year to train with the seniors before loaning them out. I think it's his way of trying to instill professionalism before letting them out on loan and trusting them on their own.

Fergie actually said that he has been promoted to the first team.
