Just home now from Brixton having been ordered to leave our work premises by the police. They informed us that 500 riot police are on the way. Brixton has an awful air of fear. You can see it in people's faces. All of the shops are being shut down and the bus was full of staff working on Brixton main street

A few weeks ago I saw a kid walking along, surrounded by about 20 youths, he had his had knocked off, then he was punched in the face repeatedly till he was unconscious. They dragged him into an alleyway where he was battered, I just saw groups of people running down into that alleyway. It's a shit hole, an absolute shit hole.
