UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

This won't stop until it gets real. When the Muslims riot the government will finally act. Nothing motivates like terrorism!!!!

Trouble in 5 estates over here in mk, police say that have deployed forces there though.

No great surprise. You should see the shit-hole they came from.

Send them and their grandparents back to Cork?

I blame greed and materialistic culture. Not surprising when these kids' role models are celebs and footballers.

For a medical professional your knowledge on anatomy is a bit crap. It's usually the other hole that most people come from

Does anyone think school holidays has contributed to this?

Speaking to a friend earlier, he was saying the situation in his opinion is worse because the kids are 'bored' and it wouldn't have been this bad if schools were open. Personally I don't think it makes any difference, it just so happened to be summer holidays when this happened.

What's more depressing, the fact that there is riots all over the country or the fact that Sky News coverage is better than BBC's?

Do these kids actually go to school?

Wait till a 12 year old is killed by a rubber bullet later tonight. Then the shit will really hit the fan.

Seriously, if they don't get a grip on this tonight I worry that we'll see certain sections of society using this as a green light to bring to a head tensions that have been simmering under the surface for the last 5-10 years.

Totally agree. We're going to feel the repercussions of this for years.

Sky are pissing me off , they are going on about London all the time , but the other stuff around the country they dont seem to want to know

I've been away from the tv a bit, granted, but I've only seen Manchester mentioned on Sky, BBC were (and still are) just talking about London.

So in 5 years will we get a story of Fergie pulling Ravel out of Selfridge's by his ear?

Sky was much better last night, BBC seems to be a bit better today.

My limited experience in the stand-off at Bayswater yesterday tallies with what your mate says. The single word that best describes those kids was bored.

They weren't even aggressive - certainly not to me. They were just quite calmly, somewhat sullenly, waiting for the police to go away or their numbers to swell enough to make the police irrelevant, so the entertainment could begin.

This is not going to go away. These looters are complete cowards and as soon as the police are given the green light to use a bit more force, and as soon as the politicians make it clear about the repercussions they all stay inside.

Thing is, there won't be 16,000 police on the streets of London for ever, and now that this has happened I foresee future events taking place in a more organised light.

It's really sad what has happened over the past 4 days and I fear for the future

According to a bloke on BBC there are 2000 kids kicking off with the police in Town.

I blame immigration, computer games and Twitter.

I was saying this all last night. These kids have no role models and nothing to do at home, and the School Holidays are too long making them forget the little amount of respect they find at school

The guy they're interviewing on the BBC news is wearing a very dodgy hat, he's also either quite posh or putting on an accent because he's on the tele.

It's Alastair, once the interview finished he ate his hat!

there is some guy on BBC saying there is 2000+ having running battles on Market Street and Piccadilly.

It seems well organised, they started in Salford Precinct and moved on to the City Centre.... who knows which parts of Manchester will be next? Trafford Centre?
