And what about Chelski? The fruitless pursuit of Modric has buggered up their transfer window.
Huh? So finishing 6th instead of 7th before selling him next summer anyway is "long-term gain"?
You could have sold Modric and reinvested the money to make the squad as a whole stronger, and maybe pushed for 4th again. Now you've won your little moral battle but will lose the war anyway, so what purpose does that serve apart from stagnating as a team and having a player who clearly has no desire to play for Spurs anymore?
