Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

Fergie should have put in the under 16years...

at least we'd have seen some desire out there.

fecking wretched display of football this.

I can't sugar coat it. That was an abysmal half of football.

Defensively we've let Zaha have too much joy and put Amos under pressure with sloppy passes. Attacking wise... pretty poor. Nothing much has really clicked from midfield to attack. We don't seem to have a consistent, or even viable, threat when we go forward. These players must be really rusty to perform like this. Hope a hairdryer sorts them out quick or we might need to turn to those 2 young midfielders for some inspiration out there. They are the backup options we've got. Valencia and Berbatov do look like they have some ideas.

Yeah but Gibson is on his last year right? So don't see how we'd get anything significant for him even if someone came in for him in jan. The thing is with him I can understand why we're playing him as we're low on midfield options and we know he's alright if we can get him fit. I just don't get Diouf. He's clearly not good enough for united and we're surely not going to put up his price tag any higher then it was after his loan at Blackburn, if anything I reckon it must be going down.

I'm not even surprised at the performance tbh. We've seen this a fair few times now where we bring in too many rusty players, particularly those returning from injury. There's just not enough sharpness and as there's no real youth players either you don't even have that enthusiasm they bring.

With Brucey gone, we now have no chance of dumping our players over priced

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at work - how's Park playing? It seems he's playing central?

Cracking half this, some excellent football on display.

I take it you're watching Rapid Bucuresti vs Hapoel Tel Aviv or Atletico Fray Bentos v Real Caerphilly instead?

Yet another piss poor display. No energy, shit passing, midfield looks clueless at times, wide play is terrible and the whole thing disappoints.

Diouf and Macheda have been non existent and shouldn't be on the pitch.

Park has done feck all but chase shadows...

SAF needs to bring out the hairdryer.

Overused term..

IMO we should bring on Pogba and Morrison as they are our best players on the bench?

How many poor performances have there been recently? Off the top of my head Swansea, Sunderland, Everton and this have been as dull as anything. That City loss has destroyed us.

And the other games we have played a bit better, we've drawn.

Fabio going off limits our options in terms of substitutions. Sadly I don't think we can risk two subs until late in the game. Especially with Rafael and Smalling not having had much football.

God that was pretty awful. Smalling has looked incredibly comfortable and assured again, but everything else has been poor at best.

People singling out Gibson are either incredibly retarded or incredibly lazy, or both. He's been nowhere near our worst player tonight, he hasn't even been our worst central midfielder. Watch the game and stop judging players on preconceived notions.

Yeah, Gibson has looked ok. Park has been disgraceful, Valenca not at his best.

Diouf though. Wow. I know players need games to get form, but really, what's the point?

No we would have seen some youngsters getting overrun by a better side and losing a lot of confidence after being thrown out at the deep end. Fergie never suddenly lets a lot of youngsters start at the same time, so you might as well stop dreaming.

So the stat they bring up when Yorke starts to talk is that he's a "Aston Villa FA-cup winner"?

Yorkie needs to go to specsavers.

Yeah, one of Pogba or Morrison may come on, but I doubt both.

Not very well, then again no worse then anyone else really bar Smalling who's been good and rafael who actually looks like he cares. But the midfield pairing of Park and Gibbo has not gone that well, they're both just too rusty for such an important area. Need to get Park wide and someone else in the middle.

Strongest squad in Europe lads, in full showing tonight.

I seriously don't know what people were expecting out of a team full of players who haven't played much recently due to circumstance and injury. We'll pick it up in the 2nd half.

Zaha looks quite good from Palace.

Anyone else seen him before to comment if he is headed for big things?

It was a joke...born out of disgust.

Match-day threads. Group hysteria in action. The collective IQ plummets due to the high concentration of muppets shooting their gobs off. I don't really understand why half of ye even watch football if it pisses you off so much.

Back to the game. We're not playing very well. Got on top towards the end though. Fabio's injury was probably a blessing in disguise. He was a red waiting to happen.

Like to see Morrison get a go on the left wing soon.
