Manchester United vs. Crystal Palace

ET is not such a bad thing, we dont have first team players who might play anyway, maybe Park

ET it is then. Firstly Sir Alex needs to give these players a team talk. They have all the talent they need to beat these guys. They just need to believe it and start using possession better. Stop hoofing the ball and stretch them with passing and movement instead. There's no reason why we can't win.

This will forever be remembered as the day Mame Diouf played 120 minutes at Old Trafford.

Palace deserve to win this. United have not taken this seriously. It's like a testimonial for Diouf, a final chance to see what professional football looks like.

Pogba is surprisingly static, as if he is not sure of his role.

Seems that way. Doesn't invite the ball to be played to him often enough. Maybe he isn't used to playing with Gibson, who knows.

Ps - this is not Gibson's fault.

Girlfriend: "Do you know what would make it more interesting, if instead of extra time they released a dragon! I'd watch it, if only for the dragon."

I feel sorry for her watching that, but I've tied her back up anyway.

That sentence simply does not make any sense. It has no known meaning in the English language.

So what is the Palace players name we've had;

Gis a Shoe
Pick a Shoe
Dick a Shoe
Pikachu
Dick a chew
Dick a choi

Oh yeah cos I meant he'd literally go out mugging old ladies, don't be absurd, it was a throw off comment/joke, you jump to his defence cos he's a Man United player, but here's a guy who's assaulted his mother, girlfriend, intimidated people and damaged property.
Was at the end of season awards ceremony and called it "shit", the lad has no class or respect at this moment in time and that's what I'm judging him on, he isn't a little kid, he knows right from wrong.

Oh I'm sorry I don't sympathies with criminals.

I don't think that's the point. The point is that you made a silly comment about someone who has a record, and that without football they are bound to a life of crime. A few posters on here merely pointed out that it's a stupid thing to say because it's based on a hypothetical / assumption.

I don't care if you have no sympathy for criminals. That had nothing to do with your comment

Better second half there. As others have said, Smalling was our best player, Gibson was also pretty good from as soon as Parks started playing well in the middle and also when he had a proper centre midfield partner in Pogba.

Morrison looked OK at times but struggled to find space, understandable as it is a step up to what he's used to. Ditto for Pogba, but his effect on the game has been marginal at best. Good they're both getting another 30 minutes though. Fruers has done very well at times but showed his lack of experience with a couple of times he's lost the ball.

Pretty happy this is going to extra time to be honest, for purely selfish reasons.

Has been a bit of his problem whenever he played in the first team. I guess its just a confidence thing but shows that the young guns are not just ready yet

I just think he's been told to play further forward and Gibson's in the deep-lying role which Pogba prefers, either way it's all part of the learning process.

Pogba's still figuring out whether he should play deep or a playmaker role...

I still think he's more suited for a deeper role and then getting up when he gets the chance.

Gibson has been a lot better than Park this match.

Morrison is quick, good on the ball but he hasn't been spreading the play or leading us like what Rooney does in the hole, has potential.

Fryers touch has let him down, but his pace compensates for most of his mistakes..

Macheda hasn't had much service, nor has he kept the ball well... Was expecting much more.

Diouf has been awful, simply not United standard nor will he make it in that Crystal palace team if he plays like this.

 it took you 23 pages to miss some quite blatant piss taking. Well done.

I've just signed in, are you expecting everyone has read the whole thread? You can't honestly not understand how that could be interpreted like I saw it - an opinion like that isn't exactly rare on this forum.

I'm very disappointed with Valencia. Another non game from him. And he's not even been helping Park out a lot at the back since we're going for the win. Park wasn't good in the middle but who knows what he might have done had Rafael not gotten himself injured.

I was very afraid of this line up from SAF. Not the greatest bench with Smalling, Rafael, Gibson and Mached all recently been injured with a prone man in Fabio as well. You knew this could well happen. I wasn't the only one who thought this.

He, he, he did that at halftime after you spent 45 mins thinking 'we're better than them'. On full throttle in the second half you still didn't look better.

I cannot believe some of our players don't have better touches than they're showing.

You signed in and went back to read page 5? Fair enough, Gibson bashing is a running theme in match threads and sometimes people take things to extreme levels in jest as a way of mocking it, I'd have thought the fact that it was a comment about a corner in something like the 4th minute would have made that obvious but never mind.

Check out the goal Defoe had disallowed for Spurs there, controversial to say the least...
