FC Basel Vs Manchester United

We try to force an attack too much. Creativity definitely isn't our strongest point, so as long as we can keep the ball for any sustained amount of time, their defence will become less organised and attacking 'creative' opportunities will just present themselves, but we don't try to keep possession we just rush to try and attack and lose the ball.

Our style of play is way too obvious. We pass it forward, knock it out wide to the winger, the winger will hunch over the ball as if he's going to suddenly shimmy past but will instead pass to the full-back, who will just manage to pass it back inside to a midfielder before he is dispossesed, the midfielder will pass it to the other midfielder, who will then play it quickly forward to a striker who has dropped deep. He will try and knock it on to somebody else but it will run loose.

Rinse and repeat.

De Gea really really needs to improve his clearances.

Does anyone here think Lindegaard has been more composed , assured and even better than De Gea?

No cutting edge, going to a long night but we should do it.

Well if try to hit them with some pace maybe but trying to play through 8 men on the edge of their box is not the way to go if you ask me. Why we feel the need to try and walk the ball through the middle of the park these days baffles me. But then I remember Giggs and Kanchelskis putting crosses into dangerous areas and men flying in to attack them. Foolish me...

Watching football with my old man is like having somebody read out all the worst, most knee jerk reactionary, negative posts from the match thread.

Makes absolutely no sense to me that we're using Park being Rooney when Welbeck is on the bench.

Welbeck is just back from injury, not the right type of game to bring him back to the starting lineup. He'll give us 30 minutes if we need him to, though.

United have put themselves in this position, if we hadn't given away points at home, we would hav been through by now

I do worry about de Gea. I would like to see Lindegaard get a run of games

Shakiri looks fat.

We are so more effective when going wide than playing down the middle
