Those three in the middle look a good idea Pex face
Sorry yeah, that line up is based on theory.
Carrick sitting a little deeper than he has been, three very good passers, one of which has great positional sense, the other two who are free moving and pacey.
Faster pace game on a smaller pitch and he really doesn't look comfortable out there. All good experience for him but he's a weak link for us at the moment.
(here's hoping this now means he scores a hat-trick in the last half hour)
Don't think he put a foot wrong after my bump. Big feck you in my face.
I think Jones is actually a bit lacking in his ball-playing capabilities to play long term in midfield unless of course that part of his game improves.
Definitely agree though playing him at centre half would waste his engine, if he learns how to coolly slot the ball away as well, we have an amazing asset in the middle.
He could become a top draw midfielder. Honestly, I no longer know what his best position is.
Only 19 and yet so accomplished. He's growing into the midfield role. Admittedly the last two games have been against poor sides, however you have to wonder what he could develop into if Fergie decided to keep him there.
As good as Giggs, Ronaldo, Rooney, Fabregas and Wilshire at this age. He really looks like he will become quite something.
But he is also awesome at fullback and center back too. Which is where my confusion stems from. He doesn't look out of position in any of those roles.I think we know for now Chief. He is of much more use to us in the middle at present than he would be at CB.

True thatI think this is where the comparisons to Duncan Edwards are coming from, my dad said he could play anywhere
He's brilliant, isn't he?
Incredibly complete for a player of ANY age, forget a 19 year old. He seems too good an overall footballer to be a centre back. But I think it is important to see how he does in tighter games where his ball retention amongst other relatively central midfield specific aspects are truly tested.

This guy is a freaking beast. I am so happy we got him and if he continues to play like this, the £16m we spent of him will not seem so much after all.
