Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

Their statement is an absolute disgrace. They are questioning Evra and the accusations he made. They're STILL calling him a liar essentially.

Plus what's this shit about Evra admitted in his statement that he insulted Suarez?

Any chance the dippers can drag out an appeal so he's available for City on 3 Jan ?

"LFC considers racism in any form to be unacceptable - without compromise. It is our strong held belief, having gone over the facts of the case, that Luis Suarez did not commit any racist act. It is also our opinion that the accusation by this particular player was not credible - certainly no more credible than his prior unfounded accusations."

They're continuing with the whole 'race card' lie then.

So in other words they think the FA are liars and only LFC see the truth.

Shame Evra can't sue for their last sentence - about his other unfounded accusations - he's not made any!!

I hope we don't and Fergie no comments all questions on it, don't stoop to their level.

Exactly. As soon as Dalglish came out against Evra this became about clearing his name.

We should have the dignity that they did not and merely state we're satisfied that the complaint was taken seriously. Ferguson knows the game well enough not to say anything stupid or the provoke more animosity between the two clubs.

The part about his grand-father being black highlights the sheer absurdity of that whole statement.

And the people on RAWK are lapping it up as a masterstroke of a reply as well.

I hope Utd respond with a statement and SAF rips into them. That statement is a disgrace.

Better to just be quiet about it like the club has been until now. United have behaved admirably during this while Liverpool have been showing the world what sort of shit club they are. I don't want United to go into this - as much fun as it'd be to see Fergie wind up Scousetown it's even more fun seeing them complaining and complaining without getting a reply from anyone.

Wow. Disgraceful from Liverpool. I didn't expect them to backtrack completely but to continue the character assassination of Evra after Suarez has been found guilty of using racist remarks is unbelievable.

I'm surprised Liverpool's website didn't post a picture of Saurez hanging out in Afirca with Tokyo Sexwale.

He called him a 'south American'. Whoopidydoo.

This "Evra has accused people of racism before" lie, I can understand it when it comes from some bitter scousers on twitter, you expect something like that from a bunch of biased football fans.

But when it comes in an official statement from the club itself it's just shocking. Liverpool should apologize for that statement and sack the person who wrote it.

Liverpool have chosen to spoonfeed their fans in the same way Rafa did - it's a foolproof M.O. for the foolish: blame everyone else for your incompetence and the fans will walk through fire for you out of a misguided sense of club loyalty. The club's words & deeds are the last resort of failures - they've failed football and society with this folly.

The actual football club has handled the situation with the minimum level of dignity and humility as possible. The statement really tops it all, saying that Evra should also be banned, it actually sounds like a more reasoned opinion from RAWK.

Regarding the 'he's not a racist' line, thast may be true, but it doesn't mean he hasn't used racist language. I'm sure a lot of people here have told or laughed at a racist joke, but it doesn't make us racists, nevertheless it doesn't excuse what he's done.

I honestly can't believe that official statement... ignoring the content, just the whole tone of it is like the sort of thing I might post in here in the heat of the moment. Totally inappropriate for an official club statement.

Not only does it contain the lies about Evra once again (can he sue yet?), but this sentence... well, I've written more measured and formal emails to the FA myself, while pissed:

"We would also like to know when the FA intend to charge Patrice Evra with making abusive remarks to an opponent..."

You're not on RAWK now, you dick-wads!

In the big pile of steaming shit that is their statement that line really stands out. It's just so amazingly ignorant. Since when did the FA charge players for "making abusive remarks" to each other? If they did, there'd be a dozen hearings after every game!

He has been found guilty now , how can Liverpool do anything other than sack him.
If it was any other place of work , he would be sacked for gross misconduct.

Because Suarez is one of theirs best players. If it was a crappy player nobody (including the fans) would give a shit about him.

Liverpool FC statement on Suarez' ban and fine.

. It is also our opinion that the accusation by this particular player was not credible - certainly no more credible than his prior unfounded accusations.[/B] :wenger::wenger:

Why are they perpetuation this myth?

Shame Evra can't sue for their last sentence - about his other unfounded accusations - he's not made any!!

He probably could on grounds of possible slander if he wanted to

this is exactly what SAF should do , Liverpool will be waiting for him to make a statement and then pounce of it , don't give them the satisfaction.

I'd make a statement thanking the FA for their thorough investigation and consideration of the facts, they'll like that.

Can't expect much out of the fans when their beloved club acts in such an embarassingly disgusting manner.

somehow the word 'victim' keeps proping up in all this. ;)

Sue them for libel.

For a club that talks about the lies of the press all the time, they sure like to spread lies when it suits them.

Indeed. Look how we acted immediately after Cantona's majestic kung foo kick. Banned within 12 hours of the incident by the club.

Had Liverpool dealt with this instantly internally, as any ethically responsible employer should have, it would have not come to this.

For the first time in a long time, Im actually quite shocked at the the actions of Liverpool Football Club. Any semblance of heritage, class or moral high ground has all been lost with that statement.

Because Suarez is one of theirs best players. If it was a crappy player nobody (including the fans) would give a shit about him.

But that should make no difference , he has been found guilty of racism.
If it was you or me ,we would be out on our arse.
Just because it is there best player is no excuse for not doing the right thing.

I'm absolutely loving the scousers response, especially the stuff about suing the fa! Going by that statement, I doubt anyone running that club has the first idea about dressing themselves properly, let alone actually knowing anything legal.

Unless shitting your nappy and throwing your second-hand rattle at the judge counts as a defence.

I'm quite angry about the "previous accusations" bit about Evra. feck me when will they learn that he has no previous accusations, they were made by other people.

To put that in an official statement is ridiculous, even the club themselves can't be bothered to do their research.

He should sue, no two ways about it.

Yeah, despite them being our rivals, I'm disappointed at their reaction to such an important matter as racism. You might expect that kind of thing from certain fans, but not from the club itself.
